yeah i knew MSpaint couldnt. I was trying to do transparent stuff in mypaint, the only other one i have. But it still didnt work.

also, yeah, i know its in the right place, and i was pretty fucking sure it was named the right thing. :I

 

Did you use XNB node to unpack and repack the .png and .yaml files?

 

here are the two folders, "Packed" is using the thing i downloaded to pack and unpack xnb files, and the other is the official stardew valley hats file

maybe something to do with the yaml file being from before? but it didnt have a problem with that last time. I could boot up the game last time.

 

Yeah, that's really strange. D: I've never had a problem using a previous .yaml file either. I guess try to repack the two files again and see if the new .xnb works. I don't understand why it wouldn't be able to recognize the hats file.

Did you back up the original hats.xnb?

 

yes, I did. I have a backup of literally all of stardew valley,
when i put in the original one, it runs fine.

 

I would unpack the original one and then use the yaml from that with your new png when you pack it up again. If that doesn't work, I'll pack the hats with one of mine and test and see! And if it works, I'll pop it in here.
