Spoiler Someone on an anon board I frequent just raised the question, what if Pearl and Steven tried to fuse? Putting aside that they probably wouldn't try any time soon... Would they still make a Rainbow Quartz?

Spoiler I have so many questions about fusions. Like, if two gems fuse and it turns out awful because their personalities are so mismatched (Malachite), if they separated and like... Became more alike somehow, then fused again, would the resultant fusion be less body horror? Would it even be the same fusion at all? (Like, in the case of Jasper and Lapis, would it be "Malachite" or something else?) Related: I WANNA SEE MORE OPAL AND SUGILITE. Will their outfits change because all their component gems changed? I didn't notice any difference in Opal when only Pearl had regenerated, so I'm not sure. Will Sugilite maybe be more stable now that (if Garnets outfit is any indication) Ruby and Sapphire seem to be more balanced? Same with Amethyst, she still has her problems but it seems like she's at least trying to deal with them again (because Steven won't let her shove things under the rug). I have more things I want to say, but I should be working... >_>
There was a difference when Pearl regenerated! Compare her original look to her current one: She's got a sash now since Pearl has one.
OOOHHH!! I completely missed that. XD I want to cosplay Opal at some point, and the straps would make armsocks + fake arms a LOT easier. Also that sash is cute as heck. Course now I want to wait to see what she looks like with Amethyst's current outfit coming into play... XD thanks for posting the comparison!
No problem! Oh hey, I just realized: The outfits we see Ruby and Sapphire in have to be new ones, since they regenerated as well. I wonder what they had previously...
Just got around to watching the episode, and wow, wow, wow, wow. I really like this show. I like how people fuck up and do bad things and hurt each other and it's not okay okay, but it can be fixed, it's not BROKEN FOREVER. And that Rose, wow. It's so great to finally get a good taste of her character, and I'm eager to see more of her.
You can't tell me she's not already absolute Homestuck trash, let's be real here. (Plus she looks so much like Jade...)
Spoiler: Chile Tid spoilers holy fuck this week was just all kinds of not okay. Just, omg Lapis... I feel so terrible for her. And wow Jasper was fucking scary I just. I will post more coherent stuff in a little while maybe. But I do wanna point out how Lapis said "just let me do this for you" in the last ep of the week, while Pearl said "why won't you just let me do this for you" in the first. Idk, it just seemed interesting the crewniverse would do that, and I feel like there has to be a reason..

Oh good, I was worried for a moment there! ^^ idk- I'm not sure how much overlap there is of people who like complaining about Pearl and people who like complaining about Jasper. And I just... I dunno, calling Jasper an abuser leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Probably most because of the people I've seen that from before, but also because it was pretty clear that it was a mutually toxic relationship, that it wasn't all Jasper, and calling her an abuser makes it seem like all of the blame should solely be on her. Spoiler: Spoiler the fusion seemed to have really fucked Jasper up, and just judging by the fact that she was completely Malachite's color, it seemed like she'd lost a lot more of herself in the fusion than Lapis had. idk this is probably dumb, sorry. Words are hard.
Spoiler: Oh god my heart Steven's line "and I might have some issues I need to work out" is kind of hilarious and awful. And the 'I don't want your help. Just let me do this for you!' Breaks my heart utterly - and it's certainly a mirror to 'WHY WON'T YOU LET ME DO THIS FOR YOU, ROSE.' #Actually 'hilarious and awful' seems a good way to sum up this episode.
Yeh, I don't like calling her an abuser much either, mostly cause I'd think one'd have to earn the title by showing a pattern of recurring abusive behavior, but I am pretty dang tone deaf and don't quite trust myself to figure out bad behavior on my own. Like, I've lurked in the Complaints Department thread long enough to know that I cannot tell what is and is not abusive, and I've heard enough people calling her an abuser that I figure it has to be true by at least some definitions? And I have seen a lot of Pearl discussion in the Jasper tags, so there's at least a little overlap.
