How do you learn it? Can you become other creatures?

 

We´re born with it. Do you learn how to breathe? Not easily, alt mode changed take extensive surgery or a whole new body.

 

Oh, I see! The only shapeshifter I've met before learned to transform into animals using magic, and she told me it was quite difficult. But -- are you using magic, or are you simply rearranging yourself? I can't tell.

 

Rearranging myself. I´d have a hard time using magic seeing as that isn´t real.

 

*leans in to watch the likely culture clash drama*

 

(raises her eyebrows and fade steps through Starscream and then back to her original position, leaving frost on his plating)

Whatever it is you do, it´can't be magic. Magic is for fairy tales. Next you´ll want me to believe those unnecessarily large glitches who turn up here sometimes are actually deities. The only force governing the universe is entropy.

 

How in Andraste's name can you acknowledge teleportation but not magic to be real -- I apologize, I know we're working from different backgrounds. But I don't see the distinction between magic and what I just did.

(she casts Shock Cage on an empty stretch of ground, by way of punctuation. little bolts of purple lightning arc across the border of a circle.)

Well. I suppose you don't, in my waking world. Not now at least, though I have suspicions that the Qun will be putting full force into its mechanical weaponry in the days ahead. But even still, entropy is an action of magic, because everything is; the forces of the universe are bound to the shape of it, and the forming is what give magic it's power. Mages might draw from the Fade, but without the Veil we would simply be drowning in the forces around us, because the Fade is, and the world is, and the two both are in such a way that cannot be denied.

Of course, your world might work differently. But ours has magic.

 

round here its made of whatever conjured things are made of and im having trouble stopping it from evaporating in my mouth but normally its made of a grain which if you heat it it explodes
