(forces herself to concentrate despite the HOT WIZARD BABES)
Some kinds of magic use blood, or life, as a source of energy. This place may be the intersection of many worlds, but I am not sure I can imagine one where under those circumstances some mages would not eventually grow tired of using their own blood as a power source.

In my world there are schools of magic and are as follows: Shapeshifting, healing, necromancy (which I do), nature, arcane, elemental (I also have a bit of an affinity for fire), force, spirit, primal, entropy, creation, and blood. Some include 'blight' but blight can be ignored for this, fade magic exists but is a very new field from my understanding.

Blood magic is the one in question at this moment, and uses blood instead of mana. This magic is quite openly considered a crime in most of Thedas but only considered something you don't show the house guests in Tevinter. The idea use to be that you would just keep a few slaves around, like livestock, and off one if you wanted to power a very strong spell. Of course, using so much of this to do bigger and stronger spells to backstab your lovely countrymen leads one to finding that some spells only work in blood magic. I've read that one can enter the Fade via blood magic but I do know for a fact that one can summon demons with it. You can also do things like crafting blood magic to try and make your only heir like the right kind of person.

If I make some engex happen, will you stop being a nuisance? And I don´t know, how old are you?

    -ignores him-

Well our fuel is the closest equivalent to human blood, so yes, our blood is a power source. I take it yours isn´t?

I do! Deeply, truly, with fervent desire. Which is why I so enjoy running behind you as a monster of a dragon chases, because I get to enjoy the view.
Do you have ideas of how it might be connecting us? Or why acts of will affect it so greatly? I would call this space magical in nature, though if you think it is very high technology I suppose that is your right. But what keeps magic from being technological in nature?

Dagna certainly bends the Fade to her formidable will with nothing but tools and engineering both. I can't see why she must pick between the two.

Have you considered a university? I hear science helps with problems like that.

Unusual blood? Perhaps they would be considered fade touched, but I did know a fellow who had a bit of a bleeding problem. Would never, you know, stop bleeding? If he was cut that is. But blood is blood, blood of things with a touch to the fade tends to be the only blood that works. Don't rightly know what that means for dwarves...

I can't say without knowing what you mean by "unusual". The qunari have a different type of blood than the elves, humans, and dwarves. Darkspawn blood spreads the blight, but I can't really say that the darkspawn are persecuted, with what they become. Spirits.... don't bleed. Nor do demons.
Really? I can see that being an issue in fencing lessons.

Ford laughs. "The Transformers are not made of dead dwarves and lyrium, either. I would be interested to know the linguistic derivation of the word 'golem' in your world, as it comes from the language of a rather small tribe in my own world, a tribe I'm a member of."
