i don't think...that it's a very good idea...to dismiss others' beliefs about magic like that...

even if you don't think magic is real...others do...and you could upset people who feel rather strongly about it

i'm pretty sure most of the people here view you as a mostly respectable monarch...but you might alienate people this way...sorry if i'm upsetting you in any way...i just know that people's perception of you is important to you...

 

I assume it´s related to spacebridges in some way. And if you want to call it magic be my guest, just don´t expect me to go along with it.

But why continue superstitions like that?

Of course they have. That's what the magical theorists in the universities do. But analyzing it doesn't make it stop being magic, it just means we understand it better.

 

I think so. I've never heard of one having a child with the other races, so I must assume there's something else there. And I think Bull mentioned once being descendant of dragons, though he did say it was probably a fantasy.

What is a spacebridge? And we have analyzed the Fade, frequently. It is something of the line of work of mages, after all. A specialty of mine, actually. And the Fade is made of... magic, though I'm sure you won't believe me. Magic removed from the physical plane of our world, held parallel but not quite touching with the veil.

We have demons too. And spirits. Both of them possess people. It's one thing to deny demons exist, and another entirely to have a cornered apostate turn Rage demon, dripping lava all over the room and making an absolute mess of things.

I could have sworn I've met a half-dwarf, but he might have just been a particularly tall one. Though I suppose if there was going to be a race to throw me off, it would be them. I wonder what keeps them from touching the Fade? Perhaps only elves and humans share that sort of closeness. Ha! Shems indeed, that'd make all of us flatears in our own ways, wouldn't it?

A spacebridge is an area in with the laws of spacetime are altered to allow us to travel great distances in a very short time. It makes galactic travel a great deal easier and cheaper.
