What I like best about the new design is that it's pretty clear there are racial deferences? Some of them have a more elf-ear look, some of them have wolverine tufts, and then you have Sendak, who can possibly achieve flight with his ears. (In my fan fic, I've been implying multiple Galran ethnic groups.)

Still no explanation for why Zarkon's a space turtle. (I'm not sure if I've seen other lizardy Galrans, but I still have a headcanon that Galra has two sentient species. One catlike, one lizardy.)

 

It's been ten thousand years, and Allura was pretty damn shocked Zarkon was still alive and active when everything else she'd known has been gone for centuries so that's clearly not a natural lifespan for a Galra. I'm putting my bets on "he's a lich that consumes quintessence through dark rituals to sustain his immortality".

 

That's basically what I was assuming, yeah.

hunk/lance is my JAM, but there is very little content for it (i find klance to be hitting critical mass at this point, there is so much)

Hunk/Pidge is,my main jam (though only in very certain ways, so I only like two fics in the whole tag and am slowly and crankily writing my own), but I'm also really falling for Hunk/Lance! I started working on a kink meme fill for it that was supposed to be teenage experimentation, fell for the dynamic, and went so far off the rails into "oh no they're hot" territory that I can't post it for that prompt anymore. XD;;

I don't feel the Pidge/Lance angle of the OT3 yet, but I would be very down for a happy poly triad hinging on Hunk.

 

Good ships, good ships! I mostly ship the entire voltron crew as a giant super-close misfit!family, with a couple romantic ships in secondary or tertiary importance. Someday I hope that a scene happens where a crew member is in trouble, Shiro locks eyes with Corran or Allura or whatever and just goes 'Ohana means nobody gets left behind'

 

i mostly ship hunk/lance as a kinda...friends with benefits thing, lol. theyre just really good friends that got each others back and occasionally bang its all good

but tbh ill ship just about any combination of the voltron crew, except shiro/pidge. just aint my thing

 

Also I ship Zarkon with shiro's metal fist. To the jaw.

Well, it was a much smaller tag when I last checked it in September! So I may have to revise the number up once I've caught up with it. But one of the two WAS "Debriefing" (I haven't read your other one yet because, well, I hadn't recently checked the tag), and the other was this one, which wavers maddeningly between exactly what I want between them and stuff I find OOC. I reread it for the good parts.

I'm terrible at romance-as-plot so the one I'm drafting out now has an action plot for the main storyline, but in between the two of them coping with damaged lions and unhelpful aliens Hunk opens negotiations around kissing and Pidge responds like a shark scenting blood. (E.g., with biting.) I already have a rough outline for a follow-up where they cope with a different crisis while Pidge prods at the "what now" question and they both fumble around what they want from each other. ...I thrive on awkward tension, honestly.
