yeah, there's a thing where once you get em up to 100% friendship or down to 100% rivalry it locks.

 

So even if we do a bunch of pro-mage stuff we're still officially Fenris's #problematic fave?

@unknownanonymous Entirely possible. I think by the point when you have 100% friendship with them, being an asshole will kinda be interpreted by them as being a friend-asshole, like your best friend who texts you "hey shitbag get ur phone out of ur ass and answer my fuckkng texts"

i'm just amused by th idea

(though i don't think hawke being a dick to other people that they care about would be interpreted the same way, like if hawke decided, say, "i love the templars now and will report all the mages to them right now." i don't see that being a friendly joke.)

 

@unknownanonymous Hmm... thing is, when we reach Act 3 it gets pretty obvious that 100% friendship and rivalry have really made your companions question their assumptions about what's right or wrong. I don't want to spoil Act 3 - or the end of Act 2 for that matter - but in their personal quests all of your romanceable companions get hit pretty hard with the Tragic Flaw aspects of their own limitations, at which point, if they have 100% friendship or rivalry with you, they show a lot of trust in you - so basically "I know Hawke is a great person and I'm very unsure of everything right now so what the heck"

Also the kinds of horrors we see mages perform in the 3rd act are SIGNIFICANTLY MORE EXTREME than what we saw so far and that could, from an RP standpoint, justify something like "even Sparrow who has been a lifelong protector of mages thinks this guy went too far and should be semt to the Circle, welp, guess things must really be bad then"
