Valiska isn't certain what she thinks about this. One eliminates pathogens; one doesn't torture them. People in whom the predilection for cruelty overwhelms all other drives cannot be allowed to continue, but one removes them out of compassion for the people they break and the knowledge that imprisonment will kill them anyway.

On the other hand...Kite is correct that this and this alone is likely to work.

Valiska shrugs.

 

As long as she toes the line, she stays dry. Very easy, even springmouses understand it. And it has the added benefit of teaching her where the line is, without giving her the illusion that she is more than a harmless annoyance.
