He hands her a glass, raising an eyebrow. It contains tea, not expensive, fancy brandy. Let's see if she notices.

 

-She sips.-

Stan chuckles nervously. "That sounds a lot like 'cops'," he says off-handedly. "And the Spanish Inquisition, which nobody ever expects, except it's always them."

 

"So it is."
He's grinning.

 

Ford groans. "That's Monty Python, Stan."

 

-She concentrates and it turns into mulled brandy.-

 

Can't say I'm familiar with either.

 

He shrugs. He had his fun.

 

"Law enforcement," says Ford, grinning. "My brother has a tendency to run afoul of it." He pats Stan on the back this time.

 

"Yeah? So do you!" Stan laughs. "There's wanted posters of you in more dimensions than there are of me."

 

Ford rolls his eyes. "Only because they don't know about you yet," he retorts. "I'm a respectable member of society these days."

 

I'd be very impressed if Stan managed to run afoul of the Spanish Inquisition.

 

(smiles) Well, I'm not technically any sort of law enforcement, but people do keep insisting I bear judgement on criminals. So perhaps you should be careful in case Josephine appears and insists that I do so.

 

Stan shrugs. "There's no laws here. Even I can't break a law if it doesn't exist." He looks thoughtfully at Ford. "Now this one can break the laws of physics."

 

"I wouldn't," Ford says. "We're Jewish."
