Can someone who thinks Aranea is fundamentally a Bad Person, The Worst Serket, explain to me why? I legit don't get it. She fucked up pretty bad but how is she worse than Vriska?

I believe the main issue with Aranea is the 'I know best' attitude smugness? She overrides what everyone else wants and way overestimates her own abilities because, hey, she's got a Plan to get the good ending and if she has to push everyone into doing their part then hey they'll thank her later! they won't have a choice. I think that's how it goes anyway.
How is that any different from Vriska, though? I mean, as I remember it, she picked that up from Vriska.
We also know she became Mindfang on Alternia and people like to think that this means she is literally the same person as Mindfang. When, no, her plot seems to be hammering home that she is not Mindfang. She is just a child who got far too in over her head and burned ever bridge she had needlessly. And Mindfang is a rapist.
At the least this is the issue I've come across myself at times with the ARANEA IS THE WORST EVER AND DESERVES NOTHING GOOD AT ALL sorts.
I finally got around to listening to Volume 10, and it's beautiful! Lilith In Starlight gave me the nicest chills ;-; Also, for some reason Meenah always struck me more as an anti-villain trying to suppress her heroic tendencies, and Vriska as more of an anti-hero who has a hard time keeping her villainous traits in check. It can make them seem very similar, yet still fundamentally different. So basically Münchhausen-by-proxy? Oh man, this an amazing and awful idea! Maybe Cronus would try to guilt-trip Eridan into doing his chores for him too, for being such a patient and caring big bro and all. Also, I'm fond of Humanstuck Amporas where wannabe sensitive artsy bohemian brother Cronus is quietly but seethingly jealous of scientifically-minded history nerd Eridan for getting preferential treatment by Dadscar, and Eridan being a better shot at a younger age, to boot. (Something he's careful to regularly remind Cronus of.) Even better if they got along pretty well when they were young and bitty!Eridan actually looked up to his supportive big brother and thought he was cool, awkward Harry Potter phase and all.
