(because i, also, am gay for hancock) Spoiler: it big he has nothing to do with the actual story i just made him for screenshots and side quests lol. alternately tell me all your companion headcanons. for example, hancock is good with kids to the point where when the kids in goodneighbour find out they wrap him around their collective little fingers and scam him out of all the candy money they can get. he's the guy who's always talking about what a shitty dad he'd be while lowkey parenting about five random street urchins. ALTERNATELY tell me if/how you decided to play with/ignore the bullshit compulsory het marriage bethesda forced on us because i am having so much trouble getting into my female playthru because of the way the whole thing is handled. i have to be a housewife????? seriously???? fuck you. just talk to me about fallout pls my children are starving.

i don't think anyone would care if you just used this one, as jacktrash said in the dumpster thread: anyways, i don't know much about fallout, could i get a rundown about what it's about? it sounds like something i'd like.
haha oh man. idk how to really explain it in a succinct way umm... i guess the short answer is it's a post-apocalypse rpg (or a post-post apocalypse sometimes?) set after a massive future nuclear war and everyone is trying to pick up and carry on. there's different factions prioritising different things and trying to grab power and such and you can side with different ones. some of them are obviously Bad TM (lookin' at u legion) but most of them have arguments for either side.* i'm not v good at explaining sorz. my fav thing in fo4 atm is the society-rebuilding element. i have way too much fun pottering around helping people set up fences and planting corn as shia but that's like a hella side quest thing. *note, people WILL try to argue that the legion has good sides. toss their fedora as a distraction and run.
I've fallen into 3 and I can't get out and also don't want to get out. Aaa. I enjoyed playing NV but got burned out on it when the game kept trying to get me to make big decisions about the future of NV, and I was like "this is not how I conceived this character". But now my thrill-seeking dad-seeking klepto do-gooder is running around DC having the TIME of her LIFE and it's great.
Please watch the Fallout 4 run that Bubblesdelfuego did for SGDQ this year. It's beautiful. Also I like New Vegas best because I actually know that area really well and have known it since I was a kid. The soundtrack is also the sort of stuff that my grandparents listen to during roadtrips out that way too. Like I don't know how many times I've actually heard Big Iron while near Primm. I REALLY DON'T. Sadly no Big John in the soundtrack. Unless I mod it in.

So I just learned about the Space Patrol and X-1 Tales of Wonder radio station mods. Oh my god. This is wonderful. These are my favorite things ever. EVEN MORE THAN NEW VEGAS' RADIO STATIONS.
hello i to am fallout garbage (specifically, 4 garbage) and just found this thread and on the occasion of fINALLY GETTING ALL THE DAMN ACHIEVEMENTS i am necroing this thread (then I deleted several saves because the things I needed to do to get them made me feel Unclean, thanks Nuka-World and almost-all-the-late-main-game-story-missions) now I am Completely Flummoxed by mods (I play on the Xbone) pls let us talk about Fallout things ;3; I am in love with my FO4 oc so much u have no idea

New Vegas is lovely and it's definitely my favorite of the ones I've played. Though I've still yet to get terribly far in any of them. I get very distracted easily in Fallout you know? And then I just kind of stop playing. Still New Vegas has a very focused, western-esque sort of story going for it which is nice. Also it takes place in an area I am very familiar with. I've been to Vegas, Primm, Reno and so on. Also I've mentioned it elsewhere but the music played on the radio stations in it is the sort of stuff my grandparents play during our roadtrips out that way. So for me it's a very nostalgic and homely feeling sort of thing. Just wandering along on some desolate road surrounded by yucca trees and sand while listening to Big Iron for the 50th time.

'many of his great deeds occured in penance for doing stupid acts' [looks into camera] ok actually my main point is: "once, when the temperature was very high, he pulled his bow out and threatened to shoot at the sun" you cannot tell me the courier wouldn't do this but with a nuke
I tend to view the courier more like an Irish hero. Off to find knowledge, dish out vengeance and perform great feats and trials. But then. I am biased.
@Aondeug i have never in my life been to vegas but for some reason walking through the radiated vegas wasteland listening to big iron is ridiculously comforting. it's just like... nice? idk. also punching everyone to death in nv is the most fun. i started a punch everyone to death play through in fo4 and im suffering, its just not the same
I'm super new to FO verse, having just played 4. I really liked it, even though I have my criticisms. I'm in sweet poly bliss with my Valentine/SS/Hancock that's the center of my verse. I've written a little bit for them, and plan to write more. I tried to play 3 a long time ago but could never get into it. @Kittenly Haha, I'm in the same boat- FO4 is my first Fallout game and I love it dearly even though I have a few issues of it. My own personal SoSu who I'm waaaay too invested in is in a relationship with Hancock. (He mighta gone for Deacon if he was romanceable, but Hancock might still have the edge. <3) There's an artist on tumblr named vectober whose personal Sole Survivor is also in a poly relationship with Nick and Hancock, if you wanna look their art up :3 (watch out, some of it's nsfw!)

But yes I love this thank you. As for being overly invested in your Sole... Ha..ha.. Sofia is currently my life and I love her so much. She's a hot mess. Her personality is drawn mostly from Aaron Burr from Hamilton with a dose of Purple Hawke from DA2 for sarcastic flavor and general shitty fortune.
...okay, on a whim I looked at my stats on my practically shiny new 12 hours clocked Fallout 4 save and I have three murders (then I looked at my ANCIENT more-than-nine-straight-days clocked save and there were only two and I don't even know who the hell THOSE were) but how did i do murders. who did I murder. I'm not that far into the game yet and 90% of the time I've had Codsworth or Preston with me and they Strenuously Object if you do murders and I'd have definitely noticed since you get a '(companion) hated that' notification and then they read you the riot act. I've practically encountered no non-hostiles as it is anyways besides settlers. I'M SO CONFUSED. Further investigation by loading earlier saves seems to indicate that all the murders took place during a 15 minute period between a save towards the end of Call to Arms and my next save, back in Sanctuary. (Pretty sure all I did was complete the mission, which only involves fighting hostile synths and turrets, then fast-travel back home. did telling Danse I was unsure about joining the Brotherhood murder his hopes and dreams like. three times over????) Preston was my companion that whole time so WHO DID I MURDER AND WHY IS HE NOT CHEESED AT ME. EDIT: further sleuthing has resulted in: what the fUCK. APPARENTLY FIGHTING SOME OF THE HOSTILE SYNTHS IN THE CONTROL ROOM AT THE END OF CALL TO ARMS COUNT AS MURDERS???? I loaded that save I had towards the end of the mission with 0 murders and fought through the final fight, checked murders: boom, three again. Reloaded, sat back and made Danse do all the work once and WHAT DO YOU KNOW, no murders at all. im. what even. :V
