For the record, this is true of transformers as well. If there was a way to manipulate a spark's coding it might be possible to change such things, but I've never encountered any such procedure.

I have no idea if anyone's tried; my planet's infrastructure is all but nonexistent and my knowledge of medical procedures is largely first- or secondhand. I only said that I had not encountered such, which may be biased by the people I choose to exchange information with. Those willing to attempt to alter a spark are often those willing to commit what I see as other morally abhorrent acts, and so I am not inclined to seek knowledge from such people beyond what I can gain from their corpses.

...and on the topic of mores, "one partner at a time, hopefully permanent" is that which I am familiar with. "Opposite" gender is... not so clear-cut, but am I correct in guessing it has some basis, however faulty, in human reproductive needs?

 

I mean. Someone did try to alter developing protoforms to impact their adult forms.

 

I should like to... encounter this person, if they still function. Preferably on known ground with plenty of weapons.
