yup! iirc neither fire or water is a dom powerhouse which makes for an exciting time. more fun than when it's super one sided
We're both also among the smaller flights, so it takes a bit fewer people and dragons to make a difference.
We're actually pretty bamf about it over in Fire when we actually bother. I don't know Water's reputation but I know that when we go for full tilt domgrab we almost always get it? Except against Ice and Earth, those are the only times I remember us losing.
i heard through drama rising that water recently lost spectacularly to plague, but also it's plague so i don't know if that's super indicative of water's ability against a flight that's more regular dom-wise i think the current powerhouses are light, ice, and plague? but i could be working off of outdated info
Ice, light, and plague are who I hear about most, yeah. (Of course, I'm in ice, and we rassle with plague a lot...)
Earth is also a powerhouse, honestly, because they're so small. I don't think I've ever seen them solidly lose.
I have no idea what our reputation is. Water doesn't do dominance as often, but I do think we make good raffles? Man, we fought hard against Plague, but Plague just was on a completely different level of output and preparation.
Plague's raffle was better than water's last time we did dom, though. I think you guys got a little screwed over by the sprites we had, tbh. But yeah, fire is one of only 2 flights that have won against plague in dom (light is the other). Granted, I think this was in 2013, so things may have changed since then.
iirc fire won through strategy, not just busting dragons? i heard they had ancient lairs full of fodder that they saved for the last couple hours, when plague wouldnt have time to make up the difference. yeah plauge whipped out a light sprite i think? and there's not really competing with that. earth does good because of flight size -- before we weren't into dom because there just wasn't enough interest, it was an apathy thing. now there is enough interest and we have like? 3 or 4 dom teams. if we push we usually place. the bill's cipher thing that fire is doing this go around is a cool strategy i havent really seen before
Yep! Small flight benefits; last I checked we only really had two major dom team threads (this was several months ago, though) which makes it very easy for our hardcore type folks to stay organized.

the rockbreakers skin submissions are so pretty im hoping they dont go the unfortunate route of earth = brown = ugly that... usually happens at least once. also crossing fingers for nice apparel this year because last years was............ so ugly.... like it was kind of cute but also so disappointing. i hope they go back to the crystalhide stuff
maybe like extend it over more of the body instead of just the wings? but yeah i'd be into getting it
