He smiles just a little and leans forward, his chin resting on his wife's shoulder.
"Is it now? How appropriate. You only deserve the most interesting and exquisite treats after all."

:o okay! Does it melt too? We should make hot chocolate with those, the, the-- kitscat? The chocolate and wafer thing! It's sweeter!! And then it can be drinkable!

the chocolate will melt...but i'm not sure about the wafers...it would probably be best to use regular cocoa to make hot chocolate though...

    But. Drinkable sweeter chocolate. :C

...wait. waitwaitwait. Dreaming thingamawhassit, right? So if I-- [She focuses, and poofs a cup of hot chocolate into existence. It is even sweeter than the first two cups she tried, because the child has now learned there is something even sweeter than normal cocoa.] Yesssssssssss :D Want some?

"That's because our Jame met us in a different dimension and came back to live with us in the one we chose to make our home in. She swore sisterhood with my wife. She brought us a Brier and a Rue and a Tori." Ford smiles.

"Because they expect other people to know the rules, even when there's no reason they should. Halloween exists where I grew up, but...we have a similar festival on Pennarion, but we don't have trick or treating." Ford shrugs. "Also, many people simply do not know how to simply say what they mean," he says, making a face, "and apparently the rarity of the skill makes some people angry enough to be offended when you don't drop hints and make guesses and pick things up from the air! It's highly annoying. But it's not going to change, so...just remember the rules when people are kind enough to explain them, because most people won't."

We do not, sweetspark. You're more than energetic enough already. You don't want the systems crash when you inevitably burn through the quickly-processed energy, and I don't want to try and keep up with you until that happens. No sugar-high equivalencies. None. No matter how delicious they are.

i'm...not so great at conveying myself...if people don't understand what i mean...i mostly prefer that they just ask me...so i can try to clarify...i'm not actually great at hints and guesses and stuff...

No Caldane then? Good. That sounds like quite the nice collection of people to have brought along, though I assume she gets along with her Tori as well as I do. Which is to say about as well as Jorin gets along with Kallystine.

The fact that there are more of our worlds and that these alternate universes can be traversed like how we have traversed worlds is fascinating as well. More than fascinating. The priests would likely get into fits over it and we'd all wait in dread for the return of the Arrin-ken were this to get out. With evidence that can't be ignored of course. Otherwise we'll just go right back to attempting to poison each other through fifteen different proxies.

-sighs heavily. politics wears on her heavily and sadly the option of 'go berserk and rend the flesh from their bones' is just not an appropriate one-

Ford nods. "But Janie isn't either. That may be because she's like me, but it could also be because she hasn't been alive long enough to pick these things up the way most other people seem to do." He sighs. "It's actually hilarious that the happiest I've ever been has been living in a world where there are very few humans, but because I'm not a catte, or a Cereuti, people tell me things instead of expecting me to pluck them out of the air--and when I mess up, it's usually humorous. Anyhow, not only did she not know what you meant, she didn't know she didn't know what you meant."

    -grins widely-

If I could be so flippant I would. We're much too small, though. Cainerons dwarf Knorths by far.

Ford frowns. "Are you trying to tell me the people he rules would miss him?"

  18. Jamethiel Oddclaw

Jamethiel Oddclaw Highlord of the Kencyrath

Less miss and more see an opportunity. A blood feud started by a mad Knorth? More than enough reason to start a war. A war we couldn't win.

"What you really need," Ford says, "is a technological or magical advantage, and agents among the common folk, who cannot love this ruler. I can't think Caldane is much loved in the Women's World, either. I'm sure he has sons or brothers little better than he is, but what you need to do is secure the loyalty of everyone his rule depends upon."

Securing loyalties has been what I've been doing. That and ensuring the houses don't eat each other alive. They're very fond of that. Civil war. I'm half afraid they'll start one while I'm asleep one night.

Also, as frustrating as it is the Women's World wouldn't be much help. They're very insular. Uninterested and lacking in power either way.
