Kind of off topic, but I finally got my best friend and my sister into DnD because of this podcast. Our second session is tomorrow and I can't wait!

 

So I'm considering picking this up. My question is are their voices relatively easy to distinguish? Nothing turns me off a podcast faster than not being able to tell speakers apart.

 

I find them very easy to distinguish, but I've listened to quite a few of the McElroy projects. You could try listening to a clip and see how it treats you? This one has all four of them speaking at one time or another (no major plot spoilers, but it does take place during Pedal to the Metal).

The high-voiced dude is Justin's character voice. When he speaks in his regular voice he sounds a bit more like the other boys, but still fairly distinctive.

 

I did have a bit of trouble telling their voices apart in MBMBAM, but never in TAZ. I think it's made very clear who's talking when, and character voices (when they're used lol) add to distinguishability.

 

I used to have a lot of trouble telling Travis and Justin's voices apart, but you get used to it after a while.

 

I've never had problems, but that may be because I heard both Travis and Justin separately in other podcasts before listening to TAZ.

I think the boys handled the concerns really well but you just fucking KNOW that's not going to be enough for some fuckers.
