I'm wondering how plausible it is to try and shiny chain rockruff without an adrenaline orb...

 

I just caught an Umbreon on route 4 by complete accident 0_0 I guess eevee can SOS for it's own evolutions??

 

On route 4 you can sometimes get espeon during the day as an SOS, but umbreon at night. If you guys are interested in finding out everything that's possible for SOS calls, Serebii's pokeearth is pretty solid. Just find the route/area and you're golden. Sometimes they don't make sense!

 

Anyone have a coherent way to try chaining minior? Im in love with its shiny, but they all have self destruct :/ guessing im just gonna have to hatch a crap ton of eggs?

 

I think the only way is to find a mon that learns self-destruct AND imprison. Eggs are probably the way to go. I lost a shiny minior to self destruct. :(

Edit: Hm. This SOS chaining guide I'm reading is claiming it's impossible to SOS Minior.

get a psyduck or golduck: their ability should be damp, which prevents self-destruct.

 

Yeah but no false swipe :c so if minior could sos(which apparently it cant?), imprison and self destruct would probably be the way to go

Has anyone heard about the secret cosmog that you can get? You can apparently catch one after you become champion and go back to the temple where you caught lunala/solgaleo and I think have them in your party and you can then go thru a portal to....the lake of the sun or moon, but opposite your version. It will evolve into YOUR box legendary tho so you could possibly have two of them or trade it before it evolves from cosmoem.

TL;DR I'm gonna get a cosmog but I don't want two Lunala so would anyone with sun be willing to evolve a cosmoem into solgaleo for me? I'd be happy to evolve your cosmoem into lunala in return.

Also would be happy to catch version exclusives for anyone! I still need litten+rowlet and I want alolan vulpix like burning.

 

looks like you can TM a damp paras / parasect to know false swipe! idk how youd do that in sm, if its even possible

edit: looks like your best bet is to go into brooklet hill, day only, and SOS paras for damp ability. it only has 10% chance of appearing, so id chain it a lot just in case

 

i gotchu. i got a rowlet on hand, evolved litten ( ill breed it soon ) and a vulpix on hand.

im pretty bummed the UBs and all of the legendaries are shiny locked, i was totally prepared to reset for a shiny cosmog :/
but im totally gonna reset for a shiny Type: Null. gotta have that knockoff gold arceus. also probably gonna try for a shiny female salandit and 2 shiny rockruff if its possible o|-<
im a tad disappointed with how they handled team skull, they seemed almost unnecesary? like. i know they stole pokemon for lusamine's experiments or whatever so she could keep up aether foundations front, but still? and wtf was guzma doing in the Beast World? why was he there.
idk i just wanted them to handle Guzma better? he's really cool and i loved him the moment i saw him lol.

which brings me to another point: a lot of the character arcs feel rly incomplete and this whole game seemed like a crapton of setup for a sequel? which is cool i guess, but it felt like the entire game was half-complete. at least Alola, we are totally Not Done with it. which has me excited but leaves a lil bit of a bitter taste in my mouth :U

also @Carnivore do you still have those rowlets? id love one, a female would be cool but i am totally not picky. if you want any Sun exclusives i can get u those in return :0

and as a general PSA: once i get the main shiny im hunting for ill probably start breeding for shiny vulpix? if anyone with moon wants an alolan vulpix will trade for sandshrew or like...anything really. ill have so many vulpix. oh god

On an unrelated note, did anyone else get to Melemele Meadow and think 'Wait, something's wrong here! There should be some Gogoats and/or a mean Sunflora!'

 

Is it true that island scan pokemon don't do SOS? Cause that sucks :( I wanted a shiny Totodile and Swinub.

ive been resetting for the shiny type:null off and on for about 24 hours now. still no luck. this mixed with school finals makes me doubt i still know what year it is

 

I finally beat the League and watched the credits and omg guys this game was so good. I was so invested in everyone by the end. Hau and Lillie and Gladion and Team Skull are just my favorites forever. I haven't liked a pokemon game this much since DPPt. My final line up was:

Lapras
Talonflame
Espeon
Mimikyu
Mudsdale

I meant to have more alola specific pokemon, but I just couldn't fine a water or fire type that worked for me.

I wish I could have given Nebby to Lillie. I'm headcanoning that I'm just holding on to him while Lillie proves herself as a trainer, because taking on the Indigo League with a literal god miiiiight not help you grow as much as you want to. I'm also headcanoning, like I do with most legendaries, that I'm not catching the Tapu's so much as defeating them and thus able to call upon them in battle in the future. I'm not really fond of the idea of keeping the island's sacred guardians in a PC box...

Also Lillie is my girlfriend and Hau can be my pal or my boyfriend it's his choice.

 

I traded in some old games and got a surprising amount of cash, so I now have Pokémon Sun in addition to Moon. Sweet.
