Perf omg. Cutting out the upstate part of my state and taking some really nice bits of TN, NC, and GA.

Also I am pleased with the Texas split! Frankly from what I know (so, the cultural south essentially) this is a Good Map culture split wise. And I appreciate all the names.

Likewise, I love where they put the lines for Adirondack. That whole region has a lot of stuff in common.

IT JUST MAKES SO MUCH SENSE. THE NAMES TAKEN FROM ACTUAL NAMES OF THE LAND OR THINGS THAT HAPPENED THERE. THE 'NO ONE LIVES HERE' WESTERN DEAD ZONE. MY BEAUTIFULLY PARCELED COLUMBIA STATE WITH COLUMBIA, AUGUSTA, SAVANNAH, AND CHARLESTON BUT NONE OF THAT ATLANTA SHIT. NOW I'M JEALOUS OF THIS ALT REALITY

It looks like they cut out greenville from that area too and frankly as someone with snobby greenville family the Blue Ridge state can have it. Also I'm super happy with the distribution of the Tidewater state for area cultural reasons. And the lots of native names for states too! I want to shake the hand of whoever came up with this.

after a lot of flailing and searching and running around, I FINALLY FOUND THE MUG. I just hope it's the original, but it's the only thing I can find with that specific drawing on it!

i can't believe i just wrote a sentence completely in earnest that contained the phrase "empathy only hinders necessary action." there's context, but. i feel like i'm on my way to becoming a comic book mad scientist.

the most 'nerd so chock full of extraneous, arcane knowledge they literally don't know what to with it and start leaking it' things I ever saw was an Axis Powers Hetalia comic that used slapstick between the personifications of Ancient Greece and Ancient Rome to make a joke about particle usage in their respective dead languages, and I have to have saved it, but now I don't know where

I bring this up because I was reflecting on the fact that 'nerd so chock full of extraneous, arcane knowledge they literally don't know what to with it and start leaking it' was a class of person I used to be a little jealous of as a smeet but now I'm definitely in that class, considering I just went on a long rant about how I've given someone the mistaken impression that I know Latin MORE THAN ONCE considering I have working knowledge of so many languages that came from Latin, and the grammatical conventions of Latin (and other similar languages), and Roman history, and ancient church history, and Christian theology, and the sort of medical jargon involving Latin roots that usually perplexes non-students, and I just happen to be able to back translate just about every word that comes from Latin that is in modern English today because I know the sources of my own language so well, but no, I don't know LATIN. Obviously. I just know it well enough to know I like ancient Greek better, which is the sort of opinion everyone has.
