I need to write all of the sub-pairs, I need to write each person getting double-teamed by the others, I need Windblade and Starscream managing to agree that Wheeljack is way too overworked and literally abducting him for a sleepover. I need Starscream being a total asshole over 'you're not allowed to touch my wings because I said so' even after he knows that Windblade isn't at all into pain, just because he knows how much it bothers her. I need him dangling the hardline connection over her the same way (with eventual resolution and all, I just have to save it for Later :3c). I need Wheeljack and Starscream trying to hide how affected they are to see young Cybertronians (Camiens), and she's only three hundred, oh my god oh fuck is this even happening. I need Starscream especially getting worked up over she's so defenseless oh my god why. Like, he wants this. But also what is wrong with her judgment, picking him for her first time ever??? Doesn't she have any sense of self-preservation? Also, she needs to learn to kill things. It's an important life skill. Why won't she do it. Why won't she just agree and go off into space and kill some criminals so at least he can knows she can do it if she has to Plus, I need Starscream and Wheeljack having a pretty clear understanding of the whole depression thing, even if Starscream is still shying away from actually discussing it, while Wheeljack is being discreet with Windblade, and Starscream is definitely trying to hide it from her. Wheeljack mentioned in the first story that it's been ages since he saw Starscream flying, and the time difference between flying from Metroplex to the council building and walking from Metroplex to the council building makes for a perfect setup for dramatically timed entrances. I want to poke at insomnia and food issues and coping within the context of having a complicated, delicately balanced life where he can't afford to let anything slip, and despite that he's somehow decided to let himself be vulnerable in front of these two mechs, what was he thinking??? And it's also a hella self-indulgent way to multiship this trio with anyone my heart desires. Jazz and Windblade are on good terms (because I said so, but also it would be adorable), and he and Wheeljack were two of the first autobots to really try committing to nonpartisan society, and my heart aches for Jazz being miserable on earth and missing home. And Jazz/Starscream is begging for exploration, but I want the same teasing pitch Starscream and Windblade have, but with all of Jazz's poise and experience to back it up. I want Breakdown and Knock Out propositioning Starscream and Windblade, because Knock Out is feeling that pitch burn and Breakdown has the flush dokis, and Starscream and Knock Out are such dorks together and everything gets adorable. I want Elita One flirting mad pitch with Starscream, because she can. I'm going to be dancing hard around talking about Starscream's past, but gosh, those aemula dynamics sure did tend to turn out ugly, and here's this big, dangerous, monochrome mech looming over him and taking him to pieces with hands and voice. Windblade's there, but Wheeljack isn't, and she's the one who notices Starscream starting to drop, and shes the one to call things off and figure out aftercare all on her own. Just......... god, I could go on about this ship forever. And that's not even getting into the cute fluff I want to write for the sake of cute fluff. Oh lord, sorry, I meant this to be short when I started, but now I can't bring myself to delete it. Last thing, I swear, the big game with this set of fics is to get things set up so that through other people's eyes and past Starscream's Starscream, I can convey that this is how Starscream is feeling about Wheeljack and Windblade Spoiler: gif

Yeah but I was actually confused reading because it's not like Windblade to suddenly forget that she promised not to do a thing, and was thinking Starscream's behavior was in part retribution for her promised that and not following through. So now I gotta reread.

Guys I just realized a thing. I was over in the 'humans are the weirdest aliens' thread, because people were talking about aliens writing about humans, and I had to throw Thundercracker into the mix. But do you remember his screenplay with Josh Boyfriend, who is handsome like an F-22 jet fighter? And who else is handsome like an F-22 jet fighter? Maybe the guy who literally turns into an F-22 jet fighter. He made himself a humansona. He's maybe even writing self-insert fanfic to ship himself with Nurse Whitney Susan Journeyer How am I supposed to deal with all these emotions, I JUST LOVE THUNDERCRACKER SO MUCH (I also made a tumblr post. I may be extremely late to the punch on this one, because my brain refuses to retain any information about jets. My dad and at least one brother identify 'em in the air, I... do not. But I'd just been researching Starscream's alt modes for that fic, to be sure I could find origami patterns of them, so I had the F-22 silhouette fresh in my head. I remembered this part of canon, and I was like tee hee you think Starscream is handsome, you should go find your old trinemate and kiss him a lot. But then I remembered d'oh, if Starscream turns into an F-22, what do you think the guy who is a literal recolor of him turns into? I am very hung up on this new revelation. This is so adorable)

Thundercracker thinks he is handsome, I'm so glad ;-; It opens up so many fascinating avenues - did he and Starscream and Skywarp choose that jet frame because they all thought it was a particularly comely Earth alt mode to disguise themselves as? Or did Thundercracker go through his slump on Earth and only now, as he's writing these screenplays, is he learning to love his human-made jet form through self insert fic? Both of these options are too good. I can't pick
It's a little hard to collect coherent summaries of alt modes for some of these jerks who keep changing up their frames across continuities (starscream), but there were some unusual design choices in AHM that may or may not be there to be taken seriously. I can't track it down at the moment (of course), but I think I saw some wiki article note that in that miniseries, Starscream was rocking an F-16 alt mode, which is an older thing for him that he hadn't had for a while, and I think the article implied it was a change from earlier IDW. I just gave up on trying to sort out IDW and said he'd test driven F-16 and F-22 alt modes while he was on earth, because it was giving me such a headache trying to untangle it. But! The point I was trying to get to was that if Starscream was an F-16 in AHM, and if we are supposed to take that alt mode as cold hard continuity (uncertain), then presumably Thundercracker was also an F-16 when he finally bailed from the decepticons. So another potential interpretation is that after he spent ages binge-watching human TV and finally started pulling himself back together, Marissa Faireborn helped him track down an alt mode that helped him feel good about himself :3c (as a side note, Starscream definitely pings me as depressed, and the more I think about Thundercracker and the way the war wore on him, he pings me that way too. And because symmetry! my brain is trying to figure out if Skywarp fits that too. I need to dig up the sad, sympathetic, and vulnerable parts of his character posthaste. OR. Also appealing. The frustration of trying to hold onto his trine when both his trinemates are cripplingly depressed and he isn't and he can't figure them out and the stress eats away at their relationship even worse until things totally fall apart.) (double side note, Starscream, Thundercracker, and Skywarp are pretty identical. Only one of these three has had the good fortune to be drawn by Sarah Stone. Imagine how gorgeous Thundercracker and Skywarp would look if they were being drawn the way my icon looks)
