Aka which Kintsujin hate themselves and/or enjoy suffering? I LOVE MOBA gameplay but the communities are AWFUL. So it's a series of ups and downs for me. I tried League of Legends for a bit ages ago, but I got frustrated with it because of computer issues. Then I got sucked into Smite because mythology themes are my weakness. I loved that game until they started catering more and more to the hardcore/pro crowd. It got to the point where I no longer knew how to play the main game mode because the meta had changed so much but I couldn't play it to learn because people expect you to know and yell at and insult you if you don't. I still miss that game though. Recently I picked up Heroes of the Storm again. I like the simplicity and the fact that everything doesn't revolve around jungling. And bot matches are nice too. Still, it's been a week and I've already seen three "kys" so we'll see how long this lasts I tend to favor characters who're good at laning. I need to find a favorite in HotS and then work on the "git gud" part
Man, LoL just really didn't do it for me? Like, I enjoyed Smite because I'm not fond of isometric top-down gameplay (and I fucking LOVE the Monkey King holy shit yes pls more) and I enjoy HotS despite the top-down format, but LoL just... doesn't do it for me. And I've never tried DOTA. But I favor supports (as in all things) and specialty characters in HotS. I haven't picked up Smite again recently, but I played a lot of Chang'e, and in HotS I'm really enjoying Karazim. And a lot of Sylvanas, actually? I murderate the shit out of some bots as Sylvanas. I... haven't actually played against real people yet. Most of the vs AI teams we've ended up in have been pleasant, if not always the brightest (if the entire point of the map is you can't reach the core pls stop trying to zerg the middle lane to the core and actually pay attention to the map mechanics PLS) but I was burned hard enough in LoL and Smite that I don't want to even try against real people in HotS. Like, ever. I'm good, thanks.
i play League pretty frequently with friends! it's the only MOBA i've ever played tho. the community in general is terrible but with a group of friends that won't get salty at you for being bad it's hella fun. i love all the champions and lore too ;u; if anyone here wanted to play LoL with me and hopefully have a much better community experience, i'm always down! i'm not particularly good or anything (i'm gonna be in bronze 3 hell for the rest of eternity) but the bot games are pretty fun, as well as the different game modes they open up every weekend :D
I KNOW RIGHT it's right there on the loading screen and you have plenty of time to read it I think a lot of it is people trying to rush through games to get the Genji skin in Overwatch
Yeah, which I mean. Fair. Us too, really, because we played for a bit when it was in open beta and then sort of stopped. (Might pick it up for a while tho now, since MOBAs are pretty fun and less visually/audially intense than Overwatch.) But oh my god. The number of times we got people going "ugh wtf r u doin go mid" when Moony and I were off completing the map objectives which won the game for us was... frustrating. Like, if my Zerg rush or capture of altars or enlistment of a god or dragon knight is literally the reason we won, you can stop yelling at me to go mid. I'm fine. In fact, I'm staying in the top lane out of spite now. Fuck you.
i used to league but i gave up after 1 too many "kys" in beginner bot games now i want to pick up hots but at the same time.... it has been A While since i did any mobas & i know i'll be godawful BUT when has that stopped me before
You can always stick to playing with AI teammates until you feel like risking real people "I know I'll be godawful but when has that stopped me before" is like my motto when it comes to MOBAs
The fact that you now HAVE to play with other players to advance is why I stopped playing League, yeah. It was not always that way and that was, imo, much better.
