Body type seems quite varied, and the Beforans were adults and were neither sillouetted not spectacularly huge (yet), unlike the Ancestors who had after all often been alive for centuries. Is Condy even a typical size for an adult troll? the beforans might have been adults by our standards but they definitely werent by their standards theyre always referred to as teenagers by both themselves and karkat and are parodies of teenage social media behavior
They're teenagers, but they are also adults? In the same way 18 and 19 year old humans are. I don't see how they were not adults by their standards or remember that being expressed. I'm fairly sure that by that age on Alternia they'd already have left the home planet.
Also hold on, do they call themselves teenagers? That's weird seeing as a "teen"ager in sweeps would be like 30+ years old.

it does kind of make sense that Earth C trolls would be smaller than their Alternian counterparts tho, just because it's inconvenient as fuck to be 13 feet tall in a world populated by tiny consorts and carapacians, and 6-ish foot tall humans. they'd be forever walking into doors. also do we know yet if adult trolls actually do have black skin, or if they're just always depicted as dramatic silhouettes?
Yeah. I think it's this, and also a deliberate inverse of the white, faceless Guardians (i.e. black (as in literally shadowy black) faceless Ancestors). But now the kids are themselves adults it kinda makes a bit of sense that other people their age would be drawn the same as them. It's not like John's eyes suddenly disappeared when he turned 18. The difference in the drawing of the Kids/Guardians was always largely to reflect the perspective of adults as these faceless looming figures on the part of the kids. That's not really a perspective that exists any more now they've matured and grown up, and while it still might be a style convention in some contexts they have grown and changed and are literally in a new universe and things are being presented differently without so much stylistic adventure game context. Oh! And Homestuck has a precedent for dialing up and down the degree of symbolic representation, here it just neatly reflects growth/maturity/the end of game.
also in addition, the human kids are 20 years old now, but definitely don't look like 'adults' as defined by their guardians, so that kind of makes me lean towards the Stylistic Choice bandwagon. also I WANT THE SOCIETIES TO MIX MORE, DAMMIT
its unlikely that dave ever even went to primary school, poor kid i looked up texas homeschooling laws and BOY HOWDY are they BARELY EXISTENT you dont even have to sign anything if you never enroll your kid in the public schools in the first place :(
i feel like ive already said this but it might just be deja vu: what if the games are just a human and a troll being swapped from the different districts instead of whole planets? like joey just ends up in the troll district and vice versa
