Anyone's luck it probably would be male due to the skewed gender ratio. Personally I care more about getting one with (what I think is) a good nature. And now that there's hyper training, do I even need to care about IVs if I wanna try to make a competitive team?

 

My friend's roommate got a male shiny salazzle and killed it because it wasn't worthy.

yeah that's... the main reason I haven't tried for shiny salandit yet.

 

I'd recommend using a male cute charm pokemon if you plan on chaining salandit, tbh.

 

@Hobo has good advice but for those extra annoying chain battles that take FOREVER, the status of the male cute charm pokemon (whether its fainted or not) doesnt matter, so an even more solid option: make cute charm faint, keep it in your first slot, and have your recycle+heal move+false swipe+kill move with a leppa berry smeargle second

 

How do you even get a smeargle with the right move set? How much of it is planning, and how much is begging that the enemy uses the move you want?
