'Living machine' is a simplification of 'mechanoid organism', little brother. Sometimes the simple words are the necessary ones.

Mechanoid is meant to signify "Like a machine". Which is to say we are not necessarily the same, but we share properties. Such as all organics share properties, even if not all of them are Sentient or Sapient.
