this is actually very fitting because I already have atrocious night vision
I mean I have atrocious vision in general but
    yeah

If that's the case, then I'm going to make a space program and hire you as the propulsion. Because if the powers scale up from shrimp to human, you could punch things across the solar system

I've seen that before actually! it is the reason why I love the mantis shrimp.
...........if I became a mantis shrimp would I have sixteen color-receptive cones

  7. Technicality

Technicality All's fair in love and shitposting

They also have 13 more color-receptive cones in their eyes, meaning they can see colors we aren't even capable of comprehending

    YESSSSSS
omg though this would be amazing like
I could make up new names for the colors and NO ONE ELSE GETS ANY SAY IN IT BECAUSE I'M THE ONLY ONE WHO CAN SEE THEM

You and the mantis shrimp. But they don't talk much.
Also your brain might not be able to process it; I know mine wouldn't. If a crowd of people talking too loudly is enough to overload my brain, I can't imagine what seeing billions of new colors would do to me

hey, curious question: can I pick a specific bird to be part bird from? and if I pick, like, something with superb daytime vision.....do I also get superb daytime vision.....like, sans glasses..........

"These [appendages] can strike prey with 1,500 newtons of force. If humans could accelerate our arms at 1/10 this speed, we'd be able to throw a baseball into orbit."
So if it truly does scale up, the Hulk would be cowering in fear of Cedar and your mighty arms

Sure, why not? There do have to be drawbacks though

    WAIT
    can I be part owl?
it says here they have really epic night vision, but less than average daytime vision
I'm assuming that would be because whatever it is that enables them to see at night would just make things....way too bright during the day?
therefore I would technically no longer need my glasses because good vision, but I would also have problems during the daytime because too much light?
idk I just really want to be part owl with night vision and also not have to wear my glasses anymore because I fucking hate my glasses
    ....okay so

    pros of being part owl:
    - good night vision
    - great hearing
    - can breathe at higher altitudes
    - would have feathers particular to owls that allow them (and thus me) to fly silently

    cons of being part owl:
    - everything in the day is Too Bright and probably overwhelming
    - fragile bones everywhere except wing bones
    - that whole 'if squeezed too tightly, breathing is no' thing
    - can't give mouth to mouth to a human anymore (sorry guys)
    - probably too much noise would equal overload
    - the whole 'certain things are now toxic to me that would not be toxic to human' (i.e. smoke inhalation is now Very Bad)
    - also faster metabolism so therefore need to eat more
    - also moulting and preening and things like that
    - would also probably have to be nocturnal (oh no.....what a tragedy.....)

Go ahead. Pros vs. cons seem reasonable, considering what you get.

Also I do want to clarify that not all of the powers have to be from animals. They're optional, if you want to pick something else then that's fine, but just remember that everything needs a balance.

can I also in addition to being birb have lightning control powers
I would like them for the express purpose of zapping people I don't like with lightning bolts
they are pretty much useless otherwise

Yes, on the condition that if you try to use it on electronics then it fries them. If your phone actually got hit by lightning, then it would be bricked. This is to avoid cheating in electricity

actually, we can't harness the electricity in lightning to use as actual electricity, according to what I was reading yesterday! we don't have the technology. so yes, hitting a computer with lightning would, in fact, kill it dead.

Just clarifying that. You can have lightning powers. But it does have to cool down to return to full power
