We were watching a paranormal show on stream and started making fun of the medium's phrasing, as one does. "[ghost dude who lived at the location being investigated] was in charge of raising men for the king at the time." Snark was made about "raising" taken literally (as in "raise the dead") rather than figuratively ("collect people to fight"). The king in question eventually lost a civil war. Which may not have happened if his armies could be raised from the dead :P

I learned today that it is a Thing in some Mormon families to give your kid a name with an apostrophe, like J'net or similar. So my brain immediately goes to ridiculous DC naming conventions for Martians a la J'onn and M'gann.

 

IDK about that, but a friend of mine from Utah explained to me that "Renesmee" is the kind of thing people in Utah come up with all the time because Mormons namesmush.

 

Apparently Weird Mormon Names are kind of a phenomenon.
