glowy magic tendrils you say Also if you want tiny glass bottles, hit up shipwreck beads (website since you are probably Not a Local). v good prices for tinybottles.
I just ordered like 50 for a good deal on Amazon but I will keep that in mind! Thanks. I got glow pigment powder, and I just ordered more resin and white alcohol ink. My hope is by dropping a mix of ink and pigment into the clear resin, it'll slowly sink in trails and drops as the resin cures. *crosses fingers*
I have no idea, I've never looked at resin work. (I'm the resident glass sperg, though @Wiwaxia is the one with actual experience.) (SOON I whisper, hovering over my email, which contains the shipping notice for my first pound of glass.) Man that's so exciting though. I can't wait till I have more income to spend on glass, because I want to get glow powder and also dichro powder. Because dichroic glass is amazing shit.
Oh man I had totally forgotten that this thread existed. I do lotsa crafty stuff, just nothing on a good enough level that it warrants more than passing mention. I have resin casting stuff, and I sew and knit. Weekend before last, I learned fingerlooping. Spoiler: Crosspost from General Art Thread in Top Serket I have like 3kg of wool lying around, and bought half a kg of cotton yarn over the last week in various colours for fingerlooping, b/c pure cotton yarn works best, while wool and polyacryl/polyamid yarns are bluh. Stuff you need for fingerlooping: Your fingers, a safety pin, cotton yarn strands, and something to pin the strands to, like a trouser leg.
I have so many half finished projects lying around. I knit, make collages, sometimes make jewellery, and have sewn a few tiny things (badly) Knitting is my main love though. I like adding tentacles to pretty much everything I make. Spoiler: Tiny Cthulhu and Tentacle Dog Am considering expanding tiny!Cthulhu's hat wardrobe. This... really didn't turn out anything like the one in the book.
Another crochet person appears! I am fond of far too time consuming projects like Afghans For Stupidly Tall People, cabled sweaters and elaborate plushes. Trying to keep it to granny square patterns for my own sanity but nooo I have to have TWO huge afghans with that alternating front/backpost double crochet thing where the end product looks like a woven basket and uses far, FAR too much yarn per stitch because secretly I hate my wallet.
I knit and sew! Not so much lately, but I made a Jade Harley skirt for a con a year ago, and I've sewn a bunch of these really simple rabbit things and some blankets. I learned how to through this crafts club my school ran. The first year I did it one of my teachers was one of the people in charge, and we'd all gather in the oldest building on the campus and work on our projects while watching movies from the 80s.
My first pound of glass came today and I ordered the rest of Everything But The Kiln, I'm SO EXCITED YOU GUYS.
guuuuuuuys my mom bought me a dressform for my birthday so I can like do draping and stuff for clothes once I am allowed to unpack her I am excite!!!!!!
One of my newest special interests is refurbishing old furniture, which has been mostly (basic) reupholstery, but also I've started to branch into painting over crappy wood finishes and I'm just going to throw a spoiler tag in here for silly-excessive numbers of before-and-after furniture pictures (silly-excessive means eight) Spoiler I'm really, really proud of how that little wingback chair turned out, I had no idea what I was getting into, but I just went for it and somehow I made it work.
If you left it on the needles, you might want to undo the last row, cut off that section of the yarn, and join the new end to your work. There might be a crease in the work otherwise.
@spockandawe those look really cute! fixing up furniture would be something I'd be really interested in if I trusted myself with tools and taking stuff apart and remembering how to put it back together, and I really love seeing what people do with stuff!
IMMA DO IT IMMA FINISH THE QUILT HELL FUCKING YEAH ... and then i wanna embroider and paint on it... it's gonna look so awesome when im done
Imma brag for a second. My parents just got back from a trip to Ireland. For my souvenir I asked for wool yarn, as much as they're willing to spend for souvies/and or can fit in the bag to bring back. I got two things of Donegal wool. They are the size of my head! I am so excited. I don't know what I'll do with them yet. But it will be warm and beautiful.
Rest of my glass arrived today! My random assortment pounds gave me a huge amount of really dark transparent purple. Like four big rods of it. I'm laugh a lot. Also I should maybe have gotten the smaller marble grabber, oh well.
