Sorry, this alert got lost :(
I don't think he has any IVs/EVs, but he keeps reliably fielding 3-on-3 teams that are type weaknesses to mine. My main team is Klefki, Dicidueye, Arcanine, Lycanroc, Pelipper and Dragonite and his is Salazzal, Decidueye, Toucannon, Lycanroc, Starmie and an unknown sixth

@BunjyWunjy Salazzle and toucannon are beasts in their own right, same with Lycanroc iirc (i dont use lycanroc). Decidueye is really good for its rounded stats and (makes a noise about starmie).

Salazzle will beat your klefki because Fairy can't hit Fire well (??? why this tho, its not weak to fire) and is weak to poison, and fire absolutely destroys steel, so pitting the two together is bad news bears. Salazzle is also a Sp. Atk speedster. i used her as my main team mate for my first runthrough. She also has a painfully weak defense, so find a way to take her out before she can do any real damage

Toucannon is a beast because of its signature move and high attack stat, but it's? not very good competitively. There are certainly better. it's underwhelming, but decent, is what i'm implying.

decidueye was the best choice of starter hands down. Primarina was middle tier because you could sacrifice the already low speed for a beefed up sp. atk and gear your fight that way (primarina is like a less impressive pixelate sylveon? Definitely meant for double battles, as the healer). Incineroar was just. disappointing. It didn't get STAB until later, and had a low speed with nothing really to make up for it like Primarina did? So find something to go against your brother's Decidueye and watch out for the Z move.

Lycanrock depends on what form your brother has. No Guard Midnight form is the best ability you can get, but midnight lycanroc is absolute garbage. Midday is a lot more viable with the 112 speed and 115 attack (iirc, i could be mixing the spe/atk stats. Theyre both in the 110s).

I don't know how Starmie works in SM, but generally it's been a pretty well-rounded pokemon in the past.

Hey, thanks for the breakdown! Yeah, he has a Midnight Lycanroc and I have the day-form which I've been using as a pretty solid stealth rock setter/speedy physical sweeper. His toucannon has been beat pretty fast both times he's feilded it, my problem with it is that the thing has Skill Link and he's taught it all multi-hit moves :/
I think mostly my problem is timing? My pokemon all tend to be slower than his .
I am training a second team, though, and this one will be Metagross, Garchomp, Starmie, Toxapex and Pangoro. Might also yank my Raichu out of storage, or train one with better moves.

@BunjyWunjy it's no problem, and truthfully since I don't compete with SM (nor am I positive of how well they work), so it's just been me skimming the internet or my own personal experience.

In truth, neither of Toucannon's effective abilities help it whatsoever. Skill link has awful luck with it (the only STAB move is Fury Attack and that's only a power of 15), and beak blast, while it outdoes even extreme speed users with priority, depends on the pokemon its fighting to be a physical attacker for burns. Basically toucannon is a suicide physical burner with no real viability. It's decent if you train it correctly, but braviary does the same thing but better.

Klefki is fairy/steel, it is v much weak to fire.

Small correction- klefki is immune to poison due to it's steel part.

Your second team seems pretty solid- make sure garchomp has a good ground move like earthquake and salazzle should be no issue at all. I would go with pangoro to counter starmie rather than use raichu bc pangoro wont be affected by starmie's psychic moves, but raichu might be good for toucannon as an alternative to lycanrock

Ets- liz is also right about steel being the part thats weak to fire but i had read that part as wondering why fairy type moves werent effective against a fire type pokemon, not about klefki being weak to fire moves

Yeah sadly the advantage steel confers to fairy with resisting one of the few elements its weak to doesn't help when salazzle starts to burninate everything.

ironicBonds is actually two dogs in a trench coat

    @BunjyWunjy omg, could i nab a regenerator maeranie from you?? i've been trying to chain one for ages ;-;

and for good competitive pokemon, i highly recommend having a kartana if you can. it's sp def is pitiful (just a small wind would blow it over), but it's so fast and has such high attack it doesn't matter a lot. but it's 4x weak to fire like klefki is, so i wouldn't have both of them on one team. and you'd need to support it with a tank and something to take out fire-types, but it's attacks can 2HKO almost everything. certainly everything on your bros team :P

i've been doing a lot of wifi battles so i have a little experience with stuff?? but i am no means an expert

i pointed that out when i mentioned fire can beat steel and pitting a klefki against salazzle is bad news. I said that fairy moves can't damage fire well, and fairy isn't weak to fire.

Sorry I misread, I thought your wear talking about defensive instead of offensive. the not hitting fire well... may a result of Fire types' general stat leaning compared to the average relative strength of fairy moves????

actually, klefki isn't immune to poison when against a salazzle, because of salazzle's ability being able to poison steel and poison types.

Salazzle can poison steel and poison types because of its unique ability corrosion.

    Klefki is fucked.

Thanks! Yeah, current plans for Garchomp is to use as a stealth Rock/physical sweeper, and I plan to teach Earthquake to several of team 2 because the coverage is so nice. My one issue with raichu is that the speed is okay but it's a complete glass cannon :/
Also, would Hammer Arm be a good move for Pangoro, you think?

I don't think I understand this sentence due to mispellings, sorry. I'm parsing it as "Fairy has different stats than Fire" which

It's just not very effective against fire for whatever reason.

Hey, thanks for the rec! I'll try to nab kartana off the GTS later because I'm impatient :p
And I have a male bold/regenerator mareanie if you want it, I know how hard they are to get with that ability/nature combo :/ (No IVs, tho.)

Seriously tho is Garchomp pretty decent as a permanent pointrunner? I'm currently thrashing around in the desert trying to find a preevolution with Rough Skin.
