Forest Run: Warrior Cats DnD (OOC/Planning)

OKAY SO COOL NEWS I think I'll be able to get ahold of at LEAST a couple other scenarios! Also, we've currently got about 6 people (I know someone else who said they might want to join, so that bumps us to 7—if we get to 8, I might split the groups into two!)

ALSO. The second adventure takes place 4 months after "Saving The Kits", which means our cats would LIKELY be warriors—who's up for an apprentice first run, warrior second run?

Apparently, only adult warriors get knacks, but I think I'd be down to fudge the rules a little—each apprentice could have one knack, based on what they were taught early in training, or what they did the most as a kit?

 

i like that idea! it also allows for more Character Development for our cats to progress from apprentice to warrior

 

Seconding @raybot there! I like starting off as 'paws because it just feels like Warriors Tradition y'know? And I like the sound of letting all the 'paws start off one knack!

 

Awesome ^ ^ The transition from 'paws to warriors generally means you have three knacks, and we're starting with one, so maybe a gain of two? Because they're still very young warriors ^ ^

From there, we can choose age jumps between adventure runs, or something—and there's a chart that says what each jump in age gives you—plus, there's a 'paw --> warrior stat shift section!

I'm thinking we try for a start date of Wednesday or Thursday? If those dates don't work, then it might have to be Monday—I'm gonna be on a plane Saturday, and I'll be HELLA jetlagged.

Of course, start date ≠ end date, so we can always get started now-ish, and continue later on!

Cloverpaw's your average, everyday, WindClan apprentice! So named because her spots reminded her mother of clovers sprouting, she's been a lively kit (with a good sense of direction) from day one. She loves stories, and running, and aspires to be the absolute fastest in WindClan someday. (Secretly, she's very relieved to be completely ordinary—star-blessed cats seem to have it really hard.)

I'm not sure I'll be able to make a sheet actually. I can't seem to find my tablet cord, and I was gonna use my tablet to fill it in. Because I only have SAI and not Photoshop, I can't just insert text, and I really cannot write in shit with my mouse. So, uh. Yeah.

A lot of photo-opener applications that I've seen will let you type directly onto the document (which is what I did with mine, like FUCK is my handwriting that nice), but if that doesn't work for you, lemme know what stats you want and I'll fill one out for you!

Edit: How many moons should our characters be? I'm putting 4 because that's what the example cat has when he's an apprentice, but ??

 

Yup! It's supposed to be "three knacks when you jump from 'paw to warrior", but I'm fudging the rules a little—in this particular case, the knack should be something more "innate" (like Cloverpaw's Pathfinder), or something they would've practiced as kits (Leap, Hide, etc.), or something they might have picked up from hanging around a group (Medicine Den = Herb Lore, Elders = Clan Lore or Twoleg Lore)!

Minkpaw wants to be a heroic clan leader, but she sticks fiercely to rules and traditions -- maybe a little too fiercely. She is determined to befriend people even if they are from other Clans, but this can be hard because she tries to be serious all the time. Her father was a RiverClan cat.... can I say her mother would have been (or at least she believes her mother would have been) deputy if not for the scandal? Is that too ~drama~? :P

And sure, that's fine! Just keep in mind that it affects how RiverClan and ThunderClan might treat her/her mother/her father!

Pansypaw is a goofy cat, with a knack for things physical and saying all the wrong things. Sure they look a bit thin, but that just makes them all the more scrappy. They're always goofy and yammering, and hailing from Riverclan means they're a pretty dang decent swimmer too. Often they end up biting off more than they can chew, resorting in needing to be rescued by their mentor, Thistleclaw.

[They're AFAB but identify as Nonbinary. Just in case it ever pops up for curiosity's sake.]

 

?????? the example cat is incorrect. Kits aren't allowed to become apprentices until 6 moons of age, the approximate length of apprenticeship being like.. 4-6 moons? Like I'm planning to have amberpaw be a middleish age apprentice at 8 or 9 moons old (ill get the sheet in tonight just keep procrastinating :P )

 

Oops! I will fix Pansy's age! I didn't realize how old they should be because I'm a dork who forgets
