I caught up the episode before the Briarwood arc started, irrc. Also I work from home so I was able to put things on in a side window while painting. Also I have absolutely no life >.>
I... might be halfway? 38/73 is slightly over half, yeah? I run it in the background of other stuff when I can (like cooking/eating dinner) and I skip the intros and commercial breaks
I'm about to hit the 50s, I manage an episode every two nights or so while I'm working or trying to fill out my pokedex. With a few exceptions it really can be treated like a podcast - the audio's the important part.
Spoiler: 38 Percy, to Uriel, in the Council chambers: "Perhaps evil is drawn to you because of your great inherent goodness." Taliesin, to Matt, half an hour later, as Percy picks up the bust: "I'm a magnet for evil, right?? I'm a little evil magnet." clearly not set up in advance in any way, which makes it an even more interesting parallel
Spoiler: LIVE AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
UPDATE: Spoiler: LIVE AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
@KathyGaele I'm on vacation now, so I'll probably have time for more than one or two episodes a week! between that and the hiatus I MIGHT catch up by the time live episodes start again... but I wouldn't bet on it. God, Vax really just deals with his emotional problems by walking away, doesn't he.
Spoiler: 17-21 - The guest stars were so delightful. I wanted them to stay, even though Day's character gave me intense embarrassment squick the entire time. All really endearing and impressive. I cheered when Zahra got "how do you want to do this?" - Trinket telling Vex that he loved her. <3 <3 <3 - I'm amazed by the consistency of Wheaton's terrible rolls! The legends were all true! - PERCY. Percy is like some terrifying combo of Wyatt Earp and the guys from Mythbusters. - A favorite moment: "What does your sister look like?" (Vax points silently at his own face) "... oh." - Vax and Vex being separated reminded me of a kid being dropped off at summer camp. Vex was briefly sad and then got into the groove of her new adventure and got over it. Vax... never really stopped being sadface and mopey about it? It was interesting to see Vex come out of his shadow a little bit, even if Vax's face upon hearing that she was facing a WHITE DRAGON without him just murdered me. - That rakshasa made the WORST decision threatening their families. Like, dude. Bro. What did you even think was going to happen there?
the best part is, I don't even have to know what happens in that episode, it's just permanently relevant.
Spoiler: 40 the SPECIFIC part I refer to is where Vax and the guards are trying to open the gates of the keep and Matt describes how the people at the front of the mob are being trampled in their rush to get inside. Like, this entire arc is a masterclass in "give the PCs a home base, let them fall in love with it, and then obliterate it," but that was just twisting the knife. I've done more brutal things in my games, but I've kept them off screen. Obviously Matt has a group full of long time trusted friends and knows exactly how far he can push them before it stops being fun, but God. This episode's taken me twice as long as normal because I keep having to get up and take breaks.
Spoiler: 40 Yeah I thought it might be around that point. I was fucking openly sobbing watching that. I can't remember, but I think @Beldaran was watching live with me at that point too?
Yeah, I'd started watching it live a bit before that after finally catching up. Just curb stomp my heart why don't you.
