quick question: do we have a map of the lake? i have no idea where the horseplace is in relation to the island/the clan territories :U

Purple =Windclan
Blue = Riverclan
Green = Thunderclan

also the horseplace is right next to wind clan territory, which means mosspaw would possibly have seen and/or interacted with horses before. hmm. i want to use this information.

 

Okay quick question because I've never done a DnD style RP on a forum before--how do we format the whole thing of like, making scent checks and stuff? Should we stick to the third person style of text based RP or... like, ask questions directly to you, the DM?

 

speaking of, is there stuff we should do other than narrate our character's actions?

That said, I think I'd like it to be sorta similar to the thing I did? Where you describe what your character does and add words in, and then underneath in brackets, you'd have the question you're asking!

i.e.
Ragingheartspaw sniffs the surrounding area, trying to catch some scent on the wind.

[Ragingheartspaw does a Scent Check, and based on their character sheet, scores a 3.]

If you check the rules, there's some stuff about using knacks and doing checks. I'll generally hint/leave a note when you should do a check (and I'll try to casually suggest times that it might be good to use certain knacks) but a lot of that is up to you


@ EVERYONE I'm thinking I might aggregate all of your character sheet info into one page, so I can refer back to it and know when it would be best to hint at things. That sound okay?

You don't need to do a scent check yet! Apparently, I *AM* allowed to tell y'all what checks you're supposed to make, and when, at least in certain situations! This particular scene is a transitional phase—you're going to run into a warrior after everyone posts, and the warrior will give you some more information, which you'll have to do a check on/for.

So I tried to rearrange the list by patrol, but kintsugi decided to dislike me today—basically, you check your number (so you're 2) and then your patrol (moon), and you post in that order—2nd for Moon Patrol!

1. Mosspaw (Wind) - Moon Patrol
2. Pansypaw (River) - Moon Patrol
3. Minkpaw (Thunder) - Moon Patrol
4. Thistlepaw (Shadow) - Moon Patrol

1. Cloverpaw (Wind) - Sun Patrol
2. Amberpaw (Shadow) - Sun Patrol
3. Rhinopaw (River) - Sun Patrol
4. Sockpaw (Shadow) - Sun Patrol

so it's a bit more like this!

So does everyone in one patrol go and then everyone in the other patrol, or is each patrol independently cycling through their order & interspersing posts with the other patrol?

It's cycling through independently! That said, eventually we're gonna get to ~spoiler-y~ territory, so I'll put stuff that's Patrol Specific under spoiler tags.
