Catching all 151, er, 368, er ... a lot: The Pokemon Infodump Party!

I havent had this much fun with pokemon since gen 3. Christ.

 

Also I highly favor bug and have been doing all bug runs since gen 3. And I am so happy that 6 and 7 have been aa good to the type as they have been. Theres a lot of bugs of lots of type pairings and their moves dobt fucking suck like they used to.

 

I kind of wish I went for rowlet but it's okay. I still beat the game

 

I went for rowlett. I named mine owlboy because im creative. I also have Bud the mudsdale and snoop the yungoos. And bird otherbirs bird 2 and birdthesequel.

 

I have finally settled on a team, mostly because it would be a huge pain to train anything in my boxes up to 50 :P Hook (Crabrawler), Topeka (Toucannon), Shrapnel (Ribbombee), Terminus (Dugtrio), Trailcutter (Slowbro), and Ravage (buffcat). It has no way to deal with Flying pokemon except I TM'd rock tomb into Dugtrio's moveset, but I'm in too deep to swap out now :P

 

currently trying to sos a vanillite, with a yungoos that can't properly tank this bullshit but has super fang which means it's the closest to a catching pokemon i have at the moment, and a underleveled vulpix with snow warning that is slowly catching up. i'm taking bets:

1) i get a shiny snorunt before a vanillite
2) i run out of potions
3) vulpix gets to a level where it can handle the snorunts by itself (mid 30's)
4) i actually get a vanillite, 10% spawnrate during hail what the shit
5) i get a castform first
6) i overdo it on that one that doesnt have ice body and it struggles itself to death

 

update: got the vanillite. 4 IVs (hp, attack, defense, speed) on best, pretty good special defense, and decent special attack.

 

those are pretty great!
If we're talking about names, I named my rowlet Wol, a dragonite named Truck, a toxapex named Crunchy and an azumarill named Mister Nubs.
(also too many others to mention)

i think for my last 2 slots im gonna go for pangoro and... idk maybe a alohan grounder? i know i want the big panda but im unsure about that last slot

also i nicknamed my munchlax mr chubbs but im not using him on my team

 

i mostly name mine more-or-less pronouncable keysmashes/fantasynames that get transferred to my setting as place and people names

gigalith -- Rorle (bc of roggenrola)
goodra -- Goomybear
drampa - Terezi
rockruff -- Cyanite (bc of its blue eyes)
grimer -- King Grimes (in honour of silver league's pokemon xd let's play)
lunala -- Vereyaventu (mashup of the two moon goddesses of several pantheons of my setting, vereyann and aventura)
cosmoem -- Forgestone (because the sun in my fantasy setting is a forge in several pantheons, and i plan on evolving it to solgaleo (via a friend's sun version))
shiny dewpider -- Mindfang
nihilego -- Gievenrad (a heraldic term, meaning a wheel of heraldic lillies)
pheromosa -- Seeblatt (heraldic term, leaf of a water lily), Delphinkrone (heraldic term, dolphin crown, can't remember the specifics rn), Schröterhorn (heraldic term, horn of a specific beetle that sometimes gets confused for a water lily pad), Wellenband (heraldic term, scalloped band)
xurkitree -- Blitzeiche (lightning oak), Wolkenfeh (heraldic term, a certain pattern)
celesteela -- Richtrad (heraldic term, breaking wheel), Navarrakette (heraldic term, a wheel of chains with 8 spokes)

besides that i have keyshmash/fantasy names for every pokemon i caught, and will only type those down if people want to read them.

 

I named my magikarp Stifling because I wasn't allowed to name him Pimp.

 

I never nickname Pokemon, it feels too weird when they evolve.

 

i swapped wishiwashi out for araquanid, nickname bubblebug

 

I usually find a name that works either thematically or just that I like for someone it becomes the name I use every time I get that poke. Like all growlithe/arcanine are saraneth, eevee and it's evolutions are named after musical forms (like Sarabande the espeon, Sonata the sylveon, and Nocturne the umbreon).

Sometimes I just find a name that I like the sound of, like Tsinga the altaria.

I spent an hour bulldozing my way through Poni Island with 5 pickup Lillipups in tow and nada, but now I get two Destiny Knots in the space of five minutes :o

(every single one of these Lillipups is named Snarf)

 

With the exception of shitpost toucan Topeka I've been trying to name all mine after giant space robots, continuing the tradition of naming things after my most active fandom at the time.

Then I caught Lunala and couldn't not name them MoonMoon :p

 

The 100 Years War with stufful continues unabated (it's a war of attrition). I'm ~900 stuffuls in post-shiny charm and feeling pretty damn annoyed about it. I just know once this jerkass shows up that it's going to have cute charm or be modest or something like that. Ugh. It's enough to make you hate these cute assholes.

Can they not update Pokémon Bank to work with sun and moon already? I want to finish up my national dex
