I can tell you about functionist primal theology, I was assigned some classes for that occassionally if someone else couldn't make it.
Cults were not part of the approved curriculum. Especially not Unmaker-worship. No one wanted to acknowledge why some regions had a high demand for brass plating and paint.

 

What do you mean Caer? What would Unicron worshipers need brass for?

 

It's a color-association thing. A lot of religious mechs would do themselves up in their patron god's colors either with paint or by actually replacing their armor. [He shudders at that last bit. No skin transplants for Venture, thanks.] Unicron's colors were brass and... dark purple too if I remember right? [He raises an optic ridge at Nichrome, who is technically wearing gold and Decepticon purple, but...]

 

Yes that. Well, technically there were three ways to do it. Paint, armor transplants and magnetic armor pieces if one really could not commit to the colors. A lot of people did it that way.
[She thoroughly ignores the raised optic ridge. Her paints are enough shades off for plausible deniability.]
