Sloane blinks at him. "Um. Yes? I mean, I assume so, given that I go to school there?"

 

Probably not. You look more like you come from the Civilized lands.

 

-facepalm- Honestly Norm, given half the people we've met here...

-let's face it though, she's a little glad it's not another "wait Atlantis was real" reaction but Norm should know better by now-

 

"Uh....sure. Civilized. That's totally what we'd call my House," Sloane replies drily. "But yeah, I guess you probably aren't my kind of witch." She sighs. "Ah well. What kind of magic do you do, then?"

 

... well, in my dimension, it's a school from some really popular kids books.

And those books are fiction. Fantasy fiction.

But I've actually read Harry Potter.The books exist in my dimension. So, it's just different!

 

Clarissa read the comic the Jagers came from.

 

Woods magic. We're the only ones other than the Woodsfolk who can live in the Forest, beyond the border towns. We return things to where they're supposed to be, cut away rot, sometimes go between the border and the Woodsfolk.

Sloane looks at him for a minute. "....I guess that makes about as much sense as anything else going on here, so....sure. Cool. What are the books about, anyway?"

"Ah. I....see?" Sloane doesn't really get it, but she has a feeling if she started asking questions about this, she'd be asking questions all day.

She has walked into the woods for the last time. -she speaks the last line something like a quote, but her voice goes strange in it, not her own-

 

-she considers, eyes impassive and opalescent, and when she leans in to whisper it's the sound of undertow overhead- I'll have to think about it.

Sloane frowns. "I...don't know who that is."
