Ford shrugs. "I know there's a universe where I'm evil and I bound the hell out of Bill, and I know there probably is a universe where Spock has a beard for real. But even I can't believe in a universe where Damara Megido doesn't sound like she's got nodes on her vocal chords from swearing, screaming and smoking. Plus, even her 'East Beforan' is better than that."

 

Some dystopia where everything got blasted with nukes, I think.

It's okay, minus the mutants and the gangs. It's still a pretty place to walk around in. The library is intact, so I guess that's a good sign.

But yeah, there was a big war that nobody won.

"And he's got multiple degrees in the alternate realities thing, but apparently he just hit a wall where his brain went NO all over the place. That happens to all of us in interdimensional paradigm theory once in a while." She shrugs. "This Damara person was nice to him when he was in a really bad place."

 

Oh yeah, how else are we gonna keep ourselves occupied and remember the past? Can you believe that someone thought baseball was about bludgeoning people with "swatters"? The worst part is that he lives next door to me.
