Until proof appears otherwise, I'd take the bodyswap as given, because I'm trying to relearn the whole trust thing and ditch the paranoia. At that point, the debate becomes how much of personality is hardwired into the body and how much is in the soul, and that... has gone on for billions of years, if not longer, and we're unlikely to resolve it with one conversation here.

Depends on the species and system involved, but generally, yes, there are ways to manipulate results and they're not terribly reliable unless you've got a mnemosurgeon on hand. And we're not doing that.

What other people do, how they feel... that doesn't mean your feelings don't matter, too. I'm pretty sure. Doesn't mean your feelings are the only ones that matter, but they still get to exist. Weren't you freaked the hell out earlier because you thought we were even implying you weren't sane? How's that gotta feel for the person getting told they can't possibly actually be themself?

You don't gotta trust them to not go yelling at 'em about who they are or aren't. It's the yelling that has... everyone else involved getting a little flinchy, I think. If they really are a Cronus, great, bully for you, you're prepared to weather the acidstorm, it's not like they can actually hurt anyone here. If they're not, congrats, you've avoided hurting someone completely unrelated.
