Also I lost my data from X. That's okay. The important Pokémon were in AS. But now I get to start over with new starters! I picked Fennekin and named him Fenchurch. Which is both a location in England, I think, and a reference to Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Nice.

  3. Okay. Does anyone know how to get to seaward cave and the bay on Melemele island? I know the entrance to the cave is supposed to be in Melemele meadow, but for the life of me I don't understand how to find it.

@tickingnectarine You get there through a tiiiiny hole in the wall. Go toward the bottom part of the meadow and go bump against the right facing wall. Somewhere along it you will see a thing to press 'a'. Do so and then youre in the cave!

    Eta: hopefully this pic helps?

Internal wiring issue maybe? Something coming loose?

Yeah, that certainly sounds like a loose wire. It could also be a misalignment in the screen itself. It should be a pretty simple repair (well, if the screen is misaligned, it's a replacement, but that's reasonably simple...), and Nintendo has decent warranty... maybe see if you can send it in? Most electronic repair shops should also be able to deal with it.

If it's a month and a half old, it's definitely under warranty! Sometimes units are just bad, QC can't catch everything.

Nintendo will service all products for a flat $80 even without a warranty, and if they can't fix it they'll send you a refurbished one of the same model. Only issue being you have to pay shipping cost and mail it then wait for them to mail it back, and don't expect them to be able to replace any special edition ones. Husband had the fire emblem 3DS and its hinges and cover cracked when he dropped it. They didn't have a way to fix it with out replacing the broken parts and they didn't have any back up parts for the fire emblem edition, so they ended up sending him a plain red one instead.

on an unrelated note, toxapex vs toxapex is an awful awful war of attrition and I beg you never do this

EEEEEEEEEEE I finally hatched a shiny Vulpix after trying for about 2 weeks. Shiny Vulpix with snow warning, timid nature, and good IVs, too!

I'm going to go for a shiny mareanie next! I GTS traded for a 5 IV japanese mareanie, so now it's just a matter of patience.

sobs over beldum's ridiculously low catch rate + they keep killed themselves via takedown

I've heard beldum is the hardest pokemon to catch, period.

yep according to this chart the highest you can get is an 18% chance, and it's gotta be with a level ball, with a pokemon whose level is 4x higher than the beldum, with low hp plus asleep/frozen

+ the only move they seem to know is takedown, which has recoil
