Sure, but you might knot like it, depending on how your tastes go. The base is bitter, and some people drink that straight, others mix stuff in, which then ranges from sweet over mellow to spicy.

I believe it´s because cubes are easy to store. One could speculate people simply couldn´t be bothered to pour their fuel out every time.
