LET'S COMPLAIN ABOUT THE WEATHER

We have snow. It's only a piddly amount, but I don't want snow. I do not like snow. Thank the lord I do not have to go out today.

 

@Emma we have about the same amount of snow, but mostly it's fucking freezing and I don't want to expose myself to it.

 

The snow is now kinda sticking here, which I resent because it means later I'll have to clean my car off so it doesn't melt and refreeze overnight.

 

It's snowing! Ordinarily I kinda like snow (especially from a warm apartment where I can wrap up in a blanket), but my running group cancels for nothing. So out we went. My fingers went numb and icicles formed on my eyebrows.

 

I wouldn't mind the snow, except that I have to leave for work in two hours and I doubt the plows have been out yet :T or will be until the snow stops.

at least with it being -30 to -40C all the time there's no more snow ... here was the last round of snow we got ...

Today it is 38 degrees in Savannah fucking Georgia. I'm honesty like, amused? Like wtf Savannah you don't usually do this like at all. Good job. Now I get to put my northerner knowledge of how to bundle up to good use

I literally choked I laughed so hard at this. I don't think I could count the number of times in high school all of us who drove had to sit in the parking lot running the AC in our cars for several minutes with all the windows down before we could even get in. When it's been over 100f all day (as it often is in August), cars parked in the sun are torture.

 

I left a piece of green bamboo in my car for a couple of days in august. When I got it back out it was heat-treated. I feel your pain.

 

I actually have a preserved spray of flowers in my car right now from August because I left them on the dashboard while I was at work. I came back and they looked just like they'd been pressed in a book, they were so dry.

 

I love the Midwest, we get the best of all worlds with very cold/sometimes very snowy winters, and super hot/humid summers! With not much in between! What a great place to live.

Yeah... Oregon certainly gets winters. I remember one winter in 1997 (?) in Portland where we did get the "freezing rain has coated everything in 3/4 inches of ice, our trees are breaking because it's so heavy"-thing going on. We were out of the state when the freezing rain actually happened, but flew back in shortly afterward and it was A Trial to get home from the airport, and to walk to the door of the house.

 

If it was the same year it happened in North Idaho then that would have been winter 1996/1997, yeah. Mom took me to her work place because school was out and no one else was in her office so I could bull shit around without addition adult supervision and when w went outside to leave the car was completely encased in ice.

 

It is currently a nice 7 degrees F outside. It is supposed to climb to a balmy 22. Fun.
