eta: once I figure out what incineroar can breed with (son of edit: I just remembered my cat's a boy, so I guess I'm looking for ditto...) I can see about gettin' yall some kittens if someone will splain me how internet trading works besides wonder trade

 

i got everything (except the island scan mons, that's the next project) and can breed everything, but i am also about to go to sleep

internet trading works via friending the person via 3ds, then both go online on the plaza, and hope that at least one person can see the other on the general visitors list. after an initial trade (or battle, for that matter), you can VIP the other person in the castle for easier subsequent contacts

 

i also have a bunch of pokes i need to evolve via trading

@BunjyWunjy are you free tonight/tomorrow sometime? /anyone else who'd be into with helping me out with that? (i can PM my friendcode)

@Saro thanks for opinion! I didnt care for Soul Silver much when i played it the first time, so i actually havent replayed it. Might be good to give it another try c: now i just need to decide on a character or theme or something to base my team off of lol(otherwise i play with basically the same team over and over)

SoulSilver was my first Pokémon game. Personally it's my favorite. I still occasionally listen to its soundtrack too

 

ss/hg is the only one ive managed to complete a bunch of times, i love the aftergame in kanto and the length of the story, also nostolgia + the pokemon walk behind you

 

I just like the Pokeathlon :P

In SS I especially liked walking around with the enormous legendary Pokémon following you like it was no big deal

 

I think I spent most of SS trying to sneak my Steelix and Gyarados into pokecenters

Also as for soulsilver, when i played it i had serious pacing issues. Took me a painful amount of grinding for me to be ready for the e4 at all, and kanto was pretty meh to me too. Really disappointed the pokemon tower, original safari sone, and original cinnabar were all gone(yes ik, remake, but they didnt have to keep absolutely everything the same, especially since im sure they didnt have as much space limitations as the original). Plus every trainer was all like level 60 and after a few towns i breezed through the rest. And everyone says diamond and pearl were slow mechanically- but i actually had more of that issue with SoulSilver? Im half wondering if its just my game or what, but it got really irritating from what i remember.
There are good things about hgss of course! Theyre probably the most aesthetically pleasing ds pokemon games for one thing, and i loved following pokemon and the pokeathelon- i just wanted to say why i hadnt replayed it
