I'm be fine with it (as expressed in the OP of this thread). I doubt the peanut gallery will overwhelm the necessary OOC discussions -- if it does, I can always start a "popcorn thread" like Wiwaxia and Zin did for their ongoing games and move it there.

@The Frood Abides couple questions: how much damage has Alabaster taken and how long will it take to spill some of my bag o' metal balls?

 

@Wiwaxia You can spread them over 10 square feet as an action.

Alabaster took 16 damage, minus the 4 hp returned by Sarnai's healing word, so if my count is correct they're at 5 hp.

 

That is a fantastic prayer btw

eta and D8 is the official space of "I'm in pain and need to get out of this" because it is a space and an apt expression

 

Anyways, heals before clever plans. I don't have a lot of confidence in our ability to beat this thing in a straight fight, though, so clever plans soon, probably.

 

Say, @The Frood Abides, does the doorway out to the hallway have doors in it, and if so do they have latches?

 

It does not. There is at least one doorway on the opposite end of the room with the whisperer in it, but it's over a hundred feet away so details weren't easy to make out.

sorry, I'm back at school and hella busy again... >:P your pings are very much appreciated, thanks. quick question before I post: how far away from a target do you have to be to make ranged attacks effectively? I know melee range is 5 ft., but does ranged... range... start at 1o ft.? or is it farther out?

 

Ranged attacks take disadvantage in melee. So, 10 ft. or further is fine.

also, party strategy proposal: we oughta haul ass out of this room and see if we can talk to Draconic Lady—if we stay here we're just going to be constantly hammered by wandering monsters and we'll get fuckall done. I think this is a Keep Moving Or You'll Be Ass-Deep In Enemies Oh My God sort of dungeon...

 

Keep a weather eye out for rooms to barricade into, as this party is gonna need to snooze soon.

 

How does the party choose to proceed?

 

grab a bunch of the lapis lazuli and put it in someone's bag (Stella's? or anyone who has space to hold it and would not be inconvenienced by the weight), then haul ass into the next room? that's my suggestion, pending fellow players' approval.
