Thank you pregnancy discussion for triggering the fuck out of Rayi, and Berit for poking her. I'm finally getting deets out of her.

I knew about the divide between the Forest and Civilization, and Woodfolk and humans, and that Rayi was running from something. Turns out that it's actually impossible for humans to live in the Forest- I knew there was a palpable divide between livable forest and woodfolk lands, but I didn't know if the woodfolk were just territorial or what. The Forest and the woodfolk are very fae, once you're in it things start going screwy and the woodfolk don't follow mortal rules. So woods-witches, who're the only 'humans' who can live in the Forest, aren't actually entirely human. Like the border towns have non-aggression pacts with the woodfolk that let them settle right at the edge in return for strange rites, the witches have a contract with the more humanoid woodfolk. It's the traditional faerie "gimme your kid" except instead of babies they come when they're fertile and take them as brides. It's a weird sort of playing house thing, because pretty much fae, but the brides do end up birthing new witches. The firstborn is traded to other woodfolk for Unknown Purposes, but the others are given to other witches to raise. (Following the faerie tale trope of witches rarely having biological daughters, acquiring them through other means.) Most brides vanish with their woodfolk husband, but under certain currently-unknown circumstances they can be released from their duties- the witch who raised Rayi actually was her mother and a former bride. Possibly they pass the duty on to the daughter they raise, which is why Rayi became a bride. She wasn't released, but broke contract and ran.

Sorry, this is what happens when I have played Valiska in multiple universes for over 20 years and she finally gets cured of her barrenness.

Most of my characters are not particularly maternal, but Valiska and Dracaena make up for them.

Also the mis get their energon cubes from the ones the robots drink out of and then generally forget about. Of course those Could just vanish when the robots do, but the mis would like them to not so they are around as material.
    Aka, actualy SPR ecosystem-let :P

I'm half tempted to make a clown cultist just so they can be baffled and amused by the clown.

out-of-universe, Barrage was mostly unvincible with Lacuna because I do not actually have the brain to write a for-real fight scene today :P so unfortunately the mecha will not be getting a lot of use unless it finds a new target.
