If my dad had his way and if i was born a boy, i would have been named after my dads lizard... its name was Dabahed

My parents' joke names for me before I was born include:

• Rotifer Stentor (scientific names for small aquatic organisms, my mom is a marine biologist)

• Cholmondely Featherstonhaugh St. John (pronounced "Chumley Fanshaw Sinjin")

 

I had a friend in middle school who swore she was going to have two kids and name the first one Wolfgang and the second one Puck.
I never wanted children, ever, so I've never considered what I'd name them.

 

I have an online friend with 17 names. not sure if they're all middle or first names, since she goes by several different names depending on which group of friends she's with.
another friend's first name is ailim, and another friend's middle name is orbit.

 

Kind of unrelated, but larping names are fun. Some of them you give yourself, some you get from families, and some of them, you earn.

In amtgard my middle name is Bearfucker.

Was he Vietnamese, by any chance? I looked it up out of curiosity and it seems like Thong is a fairly accepted Vietnamese given name--albeit yeah, definitely not the best choice for a child in an English-speaking country.

 

IIRC there's a dialect of English in which 'thong' means 'jandal', which is a specific type of sandal that's also called a 'flipflop'.

 

Yeah, flip-flops are called thongs in...I think Australia? Maybe Britain too.
