erskin's little cartoon avatar is cute when he's snuggling with jethro but kind of hilarious when he's getting fucked. bel, please be gentle with your itty bitty chibi boyfriend!

this is kind of a surprising description of erskin to me? he definitely takes every chance he can get to tease bel, and he pokes a lot of fun at things, and he can be snide, but kvetching is this kind of constant miserable whiny bitching that i don't think i've ever meant for him to come off as doing. i try to write him as a guy who tries to make light of things unless he's really rattled, not a guy who goes around always seizing an opportunity to complain. did i give the wrong impression somewhere along the line?

 

if there IS the word for that backseat drivering please tell me when you find it, cuz i can't think of it either.

now i want to see bel and erskin both attacking something... god help anyone who picks on jethro in front of them. maybe lainey could be late to some meetup and when they find her she's duking it out with some guys who are trying to maul camera guy? and they all have a very satisfying brawl.

...maybe for some cool future adventure, camera guy could get nabbed by the same kind of gross-ass raiding adults that dragged galley offplanet so young, and everyone could jump into action getting him back and murdering the adults before they can get off planet. i'm more into the idea that helming kids instead of ascension-age psionics is a black-market kind of thing, not official imperial policy, but it still happens a lot because there's still plenty of fancy assholes out there that want to pick out and raise up their own helmsmen instead of going through official channels. but so then, if bel and friends can slaughter all the adults before they get off planet, there's not going to be any repercussions because, haha, adults on alternia, that never happens, ha, ha, that would be illegal.

 

Ooh, adult pirates, i like that. Maybe bel and sigmah could get hold of a working interstellar propulsion rig, from the pirate ship? That would be awesome.

Maybe erskin could get hold of the rig, and a couple of very fucked up kiddie helmsmen, and kind of start down that road of being a bossy momma hen helmsman rehabilitator.

Helmskids: who is our captain now?
Bel: no one, youre all free.
Helmskids: AAAAAAAAAAA--
Erskin: me. i am. you are all my babies now.
Bel: >:(

 

Ok i just thought of erskin getting really frustrated with his military command schoolfeeds and taking all the jadeblood ones instead and i got some very hormonal dokis.

 

The lusii are probably sitting around staring at it, but reggie's not interested in raising his biological offspring, since he's still got erskin.

 

in case anyone is interested in the fluffcheep's build and movesets: it is basically a minipom with a little beak.

also, how long do you suppose it will be before bel puts two and two together and finds out that his blueblooded, white-furred flufcheep didn't imprint on him the way a baby would a parent, but the way a guardian beast would imprint on a compatible pupa? i think it's hilarious right now that bel is like 'yes my cute and tiny new pet' and the fluffcheep is like 'YES, MY ENORMOUS SON WHOM I AM IN CHARGE OF'.

also i think the fluffcheep should jealously defend bel from the other lusii. and maybe the other trolls. and shadows. and suspicious bits of string. absurdly aggressive creampuffs is one of my favorite tropes, in case i haven't already made that super obvious, haha.

ETA: in terms of personality i'm going with reggie's (normal) fussy attentiveness and loggan's supreme confidence.

also hmm cloris has severely fucked with the bond between erskin and his custodian but they'll probably get around to fixing it at some point. the way erskin and reggie have been largely indifferent to one another should strike bel and jethro as pretty creepy, when they notice? they were a really close team back when erskin first showed up.
