    BaseDeltaZero Shitposting all night.

I don't see any general thread for this, and I seem to have creation permissions, so I'm gonna use them.

Anyways, against my probably better judgement, I ended up starting an LP of an essentially random Minecraft modpack known as 'Regrowth', downloading Bandicam and essentially throwing together an overly long video on the spot.

I compiled/edited it in Blender, and even *mostly* got the audio synced. There are some problems (like the Bandicam watermark at the top...), but I think it's more or less ready for posting. There are a few oddities (I'll try to cut those out in the future, but... effort.). And of course, I'm not actually the best Minecrafter, so... things happen. Like making only modest progress in 50 minutes and losing my house. I could probably also use a proper skin. About a 70% chance it's gonna be MGLN Subaru. I'll also try out some texture packs?

Anyways, it's going up on Youtube but I thought i'd link it here. Any advice that you can give would be appreciated, particularly a better way to ensure audio sync.

ACTUAL VIDEO TO COME IN 'ABOUT 10 MINUTES' WHEN IT FINISHES UPLOADING.
EDIT: NEVERMIND IT NEEDS TO PROCESS

And here it is. Hopefully. As yet unlisted but you should be able to access it?

You can add a minimap mod, like Journeymap! Just download it and drop it in the Curse/Minecraft/Instances/Regrowth/Mods folder. Note that an in-game minimap, the Atlas, is unlocked pretty early in What the World Teaches.

Also, some nonspoilery tips from someone who's played Regrowth a bunch: if the inventory sidebar vanishes, press O. That's the letter, not the number.

You can use the early game Botania wand thing to link flowers to mana spreaders. Shift-click on the air to put it to Bind Mode, then shift-click the flower, then shift-click the mana spreader. You can also bind mana spreaders to mana pools or mana distributors (which evenly distribute mana to mana pools placed at the sides).

    Pumpkin seeds can be composted.

There's hidden quests of two types: ones that show up once you've done the first task for them, and ones which don't show up at all, are hidden prerequisites, and are completed by holding something in your inventory. (Gold ore, gold ingots, shards, lapis, aluminum ore/ingots, blaze rods, cropsticks, some other things).

Optifine is great-the Minecraft version that Regrowth is in has some framerate issues, like rendering literally everything in the direction you're looking in even when there is stuff in the way, which is fixed by OptiFine's Advanced OpenGL option.

Fastcraft is compatible with Optifine and also increases framerate, especially when you're generating new chunks. (You don't need either Fastcraft or Optifine, but you might want them.)

Passive flowers-dayblooms, nightshades, and hydroangeas-wither after 3 Minecraft days into dead bushes. Some Forestry bees like dead bushes, so that's useful!

The repeatable quests in What the World is Made Of are repeated in minecraft days not real life days. Also, there's a quest that unlocks early in The Way the World Works which gives you a flower that uses mana to make clay instantly from sand.

Botania's got early (first runes) things that can help you breathe and see underwater (Ring of Chordata, wear a snorkel). It also has the Rod of the Lands which makes dirt.

There's a drying rank from Tinker's Construct that can make monster jerky from rotten flesh and brain jerky from zombie brains. The jerkies don't have the negative effects that the undried versions have.

Yeah, I know I could add Journeymap or similar, but I won't because, while I prefer such mods for normal gameplay, it'd feel like cheating in this instance... because it's more like an adventure campaign. Also, I did manage to find my burrow again.

Botania isn't something I've done much work with, but hopefully I'll learn it as I go. And I don't think I'm quite ready to get fully underway.

Ring sounds useful, I noticed that your air goes down super fast underwater. But again, a fair ways off?

Equipping a snorkel in the helmet/hat slot slows your air depletion down to normal. Snorkels are made with 2 lenses (1 glass, 4 wood) and 2 sugarcane, so they're early-game.

You'll also start seeing the water as a shortcut once you get the Ring, because the Ring has you go at slightly more than sprinting speed when swimming fully underwater. Touching the surface will slow you down.

Elaborate system of canals it is!

On the other hand, I would prefer if people don't give too much away...
