It's horrifying! I love it! Spoiler (also mildly peeved that I don't have the option to take Inbeda's offer)
That's what fanfiction's for! ...seriously there's so much kinky fic potential in this game and yet there's like a grand total of 2 smut fics! Someone needs to start writing this!
I'm also like 90% sure I did something wrong in the Venetian Agenda. I tried one scenario, failed it when I stepped away to have dinner, then bought the certification seal for 1 Black Bullion. The room will test me indeed, Arturo. Spoiler I'd also like to state for the record that the teleporting dolls that are ripping my soul out can stop now
It used to be that scenarios gave their own currency as a reward for completing them and you had to get enough of that or pay a ton of pax for the certificate. Then they merged the currencies and life's much simpler this way
I suspected it might be something to do with that. Ah well. Also, I just stepped into the Fear Nothing Foundation. I have heard some shit about the Fear Nothing Foundation. UPDATE: THE FEAR NOTHING FOUNDATION CAN FUCK RIGHT OFF!!!!!!
My Illuminati agent finds Inbeda's company quite refreshing and pleasant and would totally have taken the chance to get to know him in more... detail. Her standards for "pleasant company" may have been slightly skewed by having to report to KG.
Daimon Kiyota is a weird, weird little man. Also, I'm down to Bank Heist for non-story quests (the story quest is haaaaard and I don't wanna *whine) and I've... heard things about this quest. Things that may make me go skittering back to the storyline quest anyway. >_>;;
Having finally sucked it up and made my way through the story missions (which weren't as bad as they felt when I was trying to do them before. ??? okay brain) and I FULLY CONCUR. >:C
I'm kind of eh about talking about it too much on Tumblr lest The Discourse catch me, but I wanted to yell about how TSW has so many queer characters. There aren't really that many, but there are tons more than in most games, especially MMO games - like, RIFT has one queer couple that I can think of, and they're absolutely wreathed in plausible deniability. But in TSW, even if you discount Cassandra because she could be playersexual/messing with you and Inbeda for being a demon, there's Arun and Monty, the two French girls in the Besieged Farmlands (or maybe just the one, as Celíne seems pretty oblivious to the other one jealously guarding her), Moose at the Kingsmouth police station, Kaoru, Ricky Pagan who is clearly bisexual... pretty heavy on the dudes, but still, nice. (Who am I forgetting? I feel like I'm forgetting someone.) Spoiler: re: Kaoru (Tokyo spoilers) I feel like the game handles her being a trans woman pretty well. It's subtle but, again, not plausible deniability subtle, especially not when Ricky talks about her. I did wince when he talked about her - was the illustrative gesture entirely necessary, Ricky? I'm glad she got out of Fear Nothing's grasp, but I wonder if the rosy idea she has of the Phoenicians is actually realistic. I also wonder if Ricky actually told her it was the Phoenician tattoo that caused him to break up with her and she assumed he was using that as an excuse, or what. In other news, I figure it's time to progress to issue 12 but I'm not sure if I'm dungeon-ready. I suppose I should ask on Tumblr if anyone wants to beat a dungeon newbee into shape. :')
Andy's some form of questioning/not straight and Zara is a lesbian. And Ricky Pagan is the pansexual who would be ok with finding an alligator in his partner's pants. The treatment of LGBT+ character is one of the things I love about this game and one of the reasons why I rec it so much to people. I want people to support a game that tries to have a variety of characters, some of whom happen to be LGBT! If you want, I can PM you a link to the Tumblr TSW Discord. Or you can ask around the #sanctuary, #noobmares, or #tumblrmeetup in game chat channels for people to help you learn dungeons. Or just poke me whenever I'm on! The forum I linked you has some guides for dungeoning that might help you get started with gear and such
Oh! Someone else finally might be able to picture this! @Mercury John would totally be the character Ray would latch on to and defend if he ever got into TSW
TSW may take more critical thinking than he's actually capable of. :P But yeah, John probably would be right up his edgelord alley, although John's fear of Spoiler Lilith might turn him right off, because who's scared of girls, anyway? Spoiler: ep 7 spoilers Me. I'm scared of Lilith. I bought her act hook, line, and sinker in ep 7 and so the scene down in the lab was PRETTY FUCKING AWFUL. D: Her monologues are ridiculous but she herself is deeply worrying. I will pass on Discord for now since I have troubles keeping up with chatrooms, but I will keep the rest in mind and try not to be a big baby about asking for help. :') I regularly lurk #sanctuary; I'll join the other two as well! And thank you for the reminder about guides, I like to be prepared. I figure today of all days is a GREAT day for hitting monsters over the head with swords, so I'll see if I can gather up the courage to dip my toes into this being social business. :') (It's easier to appear extroverted on forums when I can take all the time I need to think...)
Vali anything is super upsetting. They're the branch behind the Nursery after all. But yeah...yeahhhh. You should check out issue 13 if you haven't so I can share some of my other Vali thoughts 8D
IKR that fucking hospital Spoiler I love the weird moral ambiguities in Orochi. Like with Vali you have horrifying experiments and child abuse but also affordable life saving medical technologies. The same thing happens with the Zagan floors too Spoiler: spoiler in case you haven't done those On one hand, you have a team trying to find cheap sources of protein to ship to poorer areas and on the other hand, you have a team trying to sell consumable sentient creatures to the rich.
FUCKING ZAGAN, MAN. *shudder* Spoiler YES, IT SURE IS A GOOD IDEA TO KEEP LOPPING BITS OFF AN UNDEAD MONSTROSITY AND TURNING IT INTO FOOD, WHAT COULD POSSIBLY GO WRONG. At least that thing probably wasn't sapient, unlike the alpha floor's 'products'. Ghost jelly D: The only floor I haven't done is Pletheron Omega, which of course means I'll probably go through the tower five or six times more before I hit it. :') Maybe I'll get lucky with a canister again and get another one of the doohickeys that can change keycards.
"What could possibly go wrong" is practically the Orochi motto. Also fuck Manticore Beta. I will fucking buy one of those keycards just to avoid that fucking floor
