So I got my 201 mesh corset from Orchard today and it is pretty great. I got it in the red-and-black because I wanted it for a specific cosplay, but it's also great to just wear under things.
I went to hyper japan in lolita recently! And I'm currently adding another layer to my cheap ebay petti (bought as a newb) because it is not very floofy.
my first petti is a classical puppets one it's not exactly unfloofy I just feel it could be poofier a lot, and my two favorite main pieces tend towards kind of heavy fabrics, so I starch the everloving heck out of it.
Sounds like you need classical puppets super cupcake pettie. or do the laying trick of many pettis at once. It's what I wind up doing most of the time.
yeah I should probably buy another petti at some point but I'm lazy and it's too hot for Lolita and I've been making pretty eyes at strega for a few weeks now, because it's more comfy and less structured and also very much my aesthetic. For a special occassion thing, as dressing up in Lolita has kind of become for me since I'm in too much pain rn to deal with so much stuff, I guess one servicable petticoat is enough for now. If it deflates completely I will start stacking. For now I'm doing the woodlands witch thing to see if it is more than a summer fling fashion-wise :P
Oh, I do own another petti (a Victorian girl dress one, and a short one for layering for cupcake shape, bc I'm very classic) but Im just trying to revive this one, partly as sewing practice, and partly bc just adding another layer to the top will use less organza than making one from scratch.
What do you guys think of ap s new classic fairy tale print? I usually really like AP's more classic stuff, but this is just so, so busy. Busy and high contrast doesn't seem to work very well.
Wow yeah that has a LOT going on. Bluh. But goign on the site, wow do I have a mighty need for the Dreamy Planetarium Sailor collar OP in galaxy what a cute dress. Maybe someday, second hand.
This is the one we're talking about for anyone who cba looking it up. I think it would be pretty if the top half of the skirt was plainer. Lots of thinks have busy borders, but busy all over?
I kind of like how ridiculous and over the top it looks, but I think if I look at it too long my poor eyes will be strained lol. I'd be interested to see what it looks like on someone.
I usually don't follow The Lolita Scene, but if I was going to wear that print, I'd pair the skirt with a white blouse, maybe a forest-green bolero. The amount of print and trim on the bodice, added to the business of the skirt itself, is pretty daunting.
I think I'm mostly bothered by it being so busy that I can't even make out what the big print elements are supposed to be. I think there are deer? But I'm not sure?
Up close it's actually really pretty, looking at the detail shots. It's just like they needed to make it like 1.5x bigger. and it sort of looks better in non stock photos Like, it's a bit busy, but it's not as bad as the stock photos. I think the real question is, how did AP manage to take such terrible stock pictures? Sorry, just randomly fixated on this dress.
yeah the flowers just being bigger would'veprobably done the trick. And AP seems to be pretty good at taking horrible stock photos lately I've heard?
