considering orlandeau sorta murdered his abusive stepdad, with his mom taking the blame for him, he's got some pretty complicated thoughts on the matter

 

Tori's thoughts are partly a result of his culture. Parents are of vital importance in Mandalorian culture, but only if those parents are good at their jobs and accepted by their children. Blood has nothing to do with it, and if a child wishes they're allowed to declare their parent dar'buir and go through a form of parental divorce. This is basically one of the largest shames that can come upon a Mando. While Tori definitely wasn't around long enough to learn about how the legal proceedings are actually handled, he was definitely around long enough to learn why his father and mother weren't married, and why his father was also his mother's adoptive father. The answer being that his biological father fucked off and thus wasn't his father, but his actual father adopted him and thus was his father.

The other part is Tori is like 15 parts self-hate and one of the big ones is that he left the family at all. He unfortunately occasionally takes out things on others who have nothing to do with the matter at hand because he is not aware of how to really deal with anything.
