I'm not sure those Druids were even like... people, I think they might be familiars of Haggar's made out of magic and space dust? They evaporated when they were stabbed.

 

Spoiler: Druid magic speculation

Awfully sentient for magic and space dust familiar puppets. They definitely had some kind of free will and problem solving going on, especially in fights. Possibly they were people at one point and what ever ritual they went to through to become druids ate up their physical form and left a flimsy shell made of space dust and magic for their consciousness to occupy. Get tons of power in return, but you turn into a glass canon and poofs into nothingness in one hit. This might also make it possible for Haggar to assemble more bodies for them to reoccupy though?

I mean we know Haggar has a way to transfer consciousness out of the body, or at least to a larger shell... maybe the Robeasts are an extension of the principles used in making Druids? except they're still working out the bugs which is why Robeasts need to have their person inside them, and so on?

so if Lotor follows the 'child of Haggar and Zarkon' model in this continuity, will that mean he'll be a galra-altean crossbreed? What ramifications might that have with regards to the Castle and the Lions? (LOTS, I HOPE LOTS)

God reading through Lotor's story in the original is deliriously fucked up. Kid had some ISSUES.

(Aside, I hope they don't go with Keith/Allura just because it's in the original, or at least if they do I hope they take some time to flesh it out well? I haven't been feelin' the romantic chemistry at all with those two.)
