Living Bacon Monsters: Terraria

If you want to be super cheap, you can build a skybridge and then summon the Destroyer. It needs blocks to move, so if you get the right height you can just fire magic down on it while it can't quite reach you- you'll only need to deal with the probes.

 

I'd love to do that when I get a chance. That may be a day or two though

 

@Xavius @Technicality I could set up a temporary server whenever we can all get together. Sadly, it doesn't appear that you can rent terraria servers online like you can minecraft servers.

 

So, I figured out a way to survive fighting the destroyer.... now i just don't do enough damage to kill it. I only got it down to half health before it got to day, and i started at dusk.

 

What's your gear like?

 

I probably should have just been using my magic daggers in combination with golden shower. Otherwise, full adamantite armor with the magic headpiece, sorcerers emblem, warding obsidian shield, spectral boots, warding cloud in a bottle, and celestial magnets.

 

Husband just started playing again and is probably gonna drag me back into our fancy world to start exploring/gathering stuff again (he does most of the building and engineering, I mostly like exploration and gathering/making junk, also protecting him while he's building stuff)

I'd forgotten the gentle noises of mining, quite soothing while I'm working on other stuff, except when he dies and swears

 

The recent Minecraft revival has also gotten me back into Terraria.

Here is my base in a recent new world. I've just been gradually building it out over time starting with the Guide's room in the lower-left corner. As you can see, I have prepared some rooms for upcoming Hard Mode NPCs.

1.4 is out! Graphical updates! Massive rebalancing of everything! Two new Hallow bosses!

And NPCs now have preferences for biomes and neighbours, meaning all of my Big Houses and Big Castles are obsolete and need redoing! :,-)
