Currently playing Destiny, with an on/off relationship with StarWars: The Old Republic. I'll come back every time there's an expansion, play through, get bored by the time I get two or three toons on Pub & Imp side through the new story and level capped, let my subscription dwindle off and wait for the new xpack.

I considered picking RIFT back up again but I dunno. I never got very far in it in the first place and I have become incredibly bad at making friends and social connections in games, so I get bored easily.

I'm more than happy to adventure with you, should you want to give it another try and we have compatible schedules! I'm patient and pretty easy to adventure with, and like to work cooperatively without a lot of chatter. (And there's so much to dooooo... I could spend days just building dimensions and not touching the rest of the game.)

Is RIFT free-to-play or requires $ these days?

@Mercury Is there still a problem with like.. low level rifts completely disrupting leveling? Last time I tried there were basically not many lowbies, so those rifts that would spawn tons of mobs that would take over a quest hub would make leveling impossible until they despawned.

@Morven it's free to play mostly, but there is some stuff that requires purchasing (seems to be mostly Souls/classes).

Like Aniseed said, mostly free to play. There are 8 souls that are pay content, and you need to buy like $5 worth of credits to unlock the AH, but the rest of the pay stuff is pretty much fluff. I didn't even really need the AH until I was near level 50 (since I mostly soloed when I wasn't adventuring with @rainbowbarnacle and made my own potions).

Yeah, it can still happen that planar invasions take over quest hubs, but idk if it actually happens as often as when I first started playing a year and a half ago. I didn't have much trouble leveling 4 characters, so... shrug? It took me a long while to realize I could buy a flare ability that summons an invasion of my faction to attack the planar invaders, which makes dealing with those a lot easier when you're low level.

I started yet another run of Dark Souls. This time with a Pearl theme. I think I'll make Pearl in Demon's Souls and Dark Souls 2 as well. That and actually try to get around to actually beating Demon's Souls.

The rules of the Pearl run are simple. I can only wear lighter armors and must strive to be able to fast roll at all times. Next I can never use shields and weapon wise I am limited to spears, rapiers, short swords, and halberds. Though I am tempted to break my rules for certain areas, say, the Shrine of Amana, I think I will keep myself from doing that. I have never actually tried to run that area and similar ones as a strictly melee based character. Amana I get through either with bows or the binoculars+lightning trick.

BUT WITH PORL I MUST FIND NEW AND CLEVER WAYS TO WIN. Let me do this for you Rose. Let me just get stomped on by demons hundreds of times.

I wish I could somehow get a hairstyle the looks more like Pearl's but alas I am very limited.

Pearl's quest has hit a stumbling block and that block is the Capra Demon. I have no fucking idea why. It's not like I haven't done this fight without a shield before. I even have a sword for dealing with the dogs. But no. The Capra Demon has gone from being a fight I don't at all feel nervous about to the most impossible thing in the world and Pearl just keeps rubbing her face into it because WE MUST DO IT FOR HER. EVEN THOUGH WE ARE PROBABLY RAPIDLY FORGETTING WHO THIS HER IS.

what if dank sales rose wasn't dead and pearl was on a quest to regain her humanity so she could travel back to rose and be like yo i broke out of an asylum and also i am back now

@Aniseed it doesn't really matter, for the most part; I found I liked the Defiant's side of the story better than the Guardians, who come off as zealots, but YMMV. Each side gives a unique viewpoint into the war against the planes.

OH YEAH here's another MMO I play (yes another but I only play two): Trove. It's cute, it's blocky, it's free-to-play. I like it because the mechanics are simple without being boring, the blocky lego/minecraft aesthetic is really appealing, it has a sense of humor about itself, it's the kind of game you can pick up and play for 15 minutes and actually get something done, and it has completely customizable player housing. It's also kid-friendly in the best kinds of ways.

ETA: It might be really hard to get in to play for a while, though - it just got out of beta some days ago and the servers are slammed. I've got a 7 minute queue time...!

I've actually been incredibly curious about Trove. I just heard with the official launch the servers have been a nightmare.. once that gets sorted out I'd love to try it though.

Haha yeah I haven't logged in since the last day of beta so I'm about to find out just how much of a nightmare it is! XD But once it is sorted I highly recommend it because it's cute and easy to play (and so far, it doesn't seem like anything important is cash-only).

I also want to try it if I get into RIFT because you get that cute budgie mount in RIFT if you hit level 20 in Trove. So I hope that 'deal' lasts a while.

It is a REALLY cute budgie mount. :D That's what got me into Trove in the first place, and I liked it so much I decided to stick around.

I've been poking around Trove for a while now and other than the initial queue things are going pretty well - I'm not getting much lag and I don't feel like I have to fight for dungeons. Apparently it's crashy for some people but it's been stable for me, and there was a server message that they're working on it. It's been nice to see my little purple tower again!

I got Bloodborne for my birthday, and so far it's been absolutely gorgeous. I own Dark Souls, but I never got very far with it cause it got way too difficult and I think I picked the wrong class for my preferred play style, so I beat my head against that particular wall till I got bored and left. But! This game might be a touch easier, and definitely easier on the eyes. I prefer my games filled to the brim with shambling horrors, thank you very much.
