Rodimus can make fire. As can the dinobots. It's unclear how much the dinobots' flames are actual heat and not just fire damage, but Rodimus definitely toasted a few people.

Yeah, but once Rodimus flames on, he burns out pretty fast. And then gets exhausted, although idk how much of that that we saw in MTMTE was just physical exhaustion from the literal fighting and mental exhaustion from a hopeless situation. Basically, Rodimus and Ultra Magnus funtimes teamup!

OH. GUYS. Two thoughts, that go together. So Rodimus was heavily implied to be born from the last cybertronian hot spot, the one we see Optimus and company protecting in the flashback. Which is also when we see the council whatsit doing Mysterious Experiments on the little babby sparks, and Rung tells us that secretly the council has been up to those kinds of science shenanigans for a while. In the main universe, the council was driven off and at least some of those sparks were sent of to Nyon, where they'd be safe. So in the functionist universe... No Megatron to foster unrest. No Optimus being moved by Megatron's work to inspire him to push back against the abuses of power. Presumably, nobody making an effort to protect hot spots from government science experiments. So how did THIS Hot Rod grow up? How did such a wild card solo adventurer type do under such a restrictive government? Not well, I'm guessing. And most importantly, the second thought...
